The company said over 10 emerging markets along with Japan, Australia and New Zealand have transitioned in this final phase of the integration of the biosimilars business acquired from Viatris. With the completion of this significant milestone, Biocon Biologics is now a fully integrated ‘lab to market’ biosimilars company committed to serving millions of patients across the globe. Around 70 emerging markets were integrated in July, the North America business transitioned in September and the European business in November. Biocon Biologics has made several key leadership appointments, built new capabilities and infrastructure from the ground up and set up dedicated teams to address the growing needs of patients and customers through self-led and partner or distributor-led commercial models. GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport, said people with knowledge of the matter, paving the way for the GMR Group to build its fourth airport in the country. GMR Airports currently operates the Delhi, Hyderabad and Goa airports in India, and an airport each in the Philippines and Indonesia. Among the five lenders, REC has sanctioned the highest amount of Rs 1,245 crore, followed by India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL) (Rs 860 crore) and Exim Bank (Rs 455 crore), the people said. The other two members in the consortium are Central Bank of India which sanctioned Rs 364 crore and Bank of Maharashtra that has agreed to lend Rs 291 crore, the people said. The project cost, estimated to be Rs 4,727 crore, would be funded by Rs 3,215 crore debt of debt, equity and equity-linked instruments of Rs 1,377 crore and an Andhra Pradesh government grant of Rs 135 crore.

On Thursday, the rupee closed at 83.3275 per US dollar, just 0.09% stronger than 83.4025/$1 at previous close. Meanwhile, currencies such as the Thai baht and the South Korean won notched up gains of around 2% versus the US dollar on Thursday while the Indonesian rupiah strengthened 1%, Bloomberg data showed. The Malaysian ringgit, the Taiwanese dollar, the Chinese yuan, the Philippine peso, and the Singapore dollar also outstripped the rupee's gains on Thursday, with the domestic currency extending the underperformance it showed versus its Asian peers last month.
