Alta Capital has acquired Goldman Sachs' and Warburg Pincus' 100% stake in the country's largest student housing platform, Good Host Spaces, for $320 million, or nearly Rs 2,700 crore, said persons with direct knowledge of the development. Goldman held around 70% in the company that owns and operates third-party purpose-built, on-campus student housing assets across key universities including Manipal University, OP Jindal Global University and Shoolini University. «The deal with Alta Capital marks the complete exit of both Goldman Sachs and Warburg Pincus. While the talks were on for the last few months, the transaction was concluded last week,» said one of the persons mentioned above. Prior to this investment, Alta Capital, founded by Siddhartha Gupta, former managing director of Blackstone India, has invested $325 million in India's largest managed office spaces operator, Table Space, and $200 million in Pragati Warehousing.

OCS Services on Wednesday announced the commencement of its role as operations and maintenance contractor for KG-D6 Ruby FPSO — a floating production, storage and offloading vessel operating at the deepsea oil and gas fields of Reliance Industries Limited and bp plc in KB basin. «OCS Services will also be responsible for the operation of subsea production system using topside subsea control system equipment installed on the FPSO,» the firm said in a statement.

Venture capital Peak XV, on Monday, announced the launch of its Cohort 9 for early-age startups, under which it will train 13 startups, according to a report by the PTI. The Cohort 9 is the first after the separation of Sequoia India & Southeast Asia from Sequoia Capital US. The 13 ventures from India, Singapore, and Australia will undergo a 16-week program under the cohort. “Cohort 09 marks several milestones for the firm. It is the first since Peak XV’s rebrand from Sequoia India & Southeast Asia and forays into greater Asia-Pacific expansion with the inclusion of Australia-based startups,” Peak XV said in a statement, according to PTI.

Peak XV Partners’ scale-up programme for early-stage startups, has selected 13 ventures with a focus on deeptech, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing and quantum computing as part of its ninth cohort. This is the first cohort of Surge since Peak XV Partners came into existence after the split of erstwhile Sequoia Capital.

While rejecting the plan of immediate expansion across nation, Air India Express Managing Director, Aloke Singh, said that airline's top priority will be to first consolidate its presence on the existing routes and achieve a meaningful scale in the industry. "The focus of Air India Express will be on routes which have a higher component of leisure travellers, a higher component of price-sensitive customers. In fact, more of non-business while Air India will focus primarily on routes which are higher yielding, which requires business class and a higher level of in-flight services," Singh told PTI in an interaction.
