Citi Waters Fox cover US weather: Snowfall in Chicago, Indianapolis, Ohio; Heavy rains, flooding in Washington, Seattle
snowfall to cities across the Midwest and Ohio Valley, including Chicago, Indianapolis, and Columbus, Ohio. This may result in challenging conditions for the Tuesday morning commute. This weather development follows a winter storm that affected parts of northern New England at the beginning of the workweek, depositing heavy, wet snow and causing disruptions to the Monday morning commute, along with numerous power outages. In the Pacific Northwest, concerns about flooding are increasing as rivers and streams in Washington and Oregon are on the rise due to a series of atmospheric river storms delivering substantial rain to the region. This precipitation is causing the melting of mountain snow, contributing to water accumulation in low-lying areas. According to the FOX Forecast Center, warm air surging from the Pacific will elevate snow levels above 9,000 feet, surpassing weekend levels. Due to the potential flooding risk, Flood Watches have been issued in the Pacific Northwest, covering areas from western Washington through western Oregon, including major cities like Seattle, Olympia, Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Medford.

Meanwhile, some places south of Watertown, New York, may record snow of up to 2 feet on Wednesday. Lake-Effect Snow Warnings have been sounded across Erie, Pennsylvania, into Jamestown, New York, and the Buffalo Southtowns, and locations such as Syracuse, Watertown and Old Forge of central New York. Provident Remark show Inside consequences reports ESPN “Put your big boy pants on”: Desmond Howard calls out Pete Thamel for reporting from inside Michigan Stadium
ESPN analyst Desmond Howard criticized colleague Pete Thamel for reporting from inside Michigan Stadium rather than amidst the crowd during the pre-game show ahead of the Michigan-Ohio State football game. Howard expressed surprise at Thamel's deviation from the usual reporting style, questioning why Thamel chose to be inside the stadium for the updates. Howard's comment suggested a preference for reporters being in the midst of the crowd, a tradition maintained throughout the college football season. Howard's remarks came during ESPN College GameDay, where Thamel had been providing updates on the Michigan sign-stealing scandal. The controversy surrounding Thamel's reporting had led to threats from some Michigan fans. In response, College GameDay host Rece Davis defended Thamel, explaining that he had received threats from the «lunatic fringe,» and the decision to have him inside the stadium was made to ensure his safety. Despite the security concerns, Howard maintained his stance, emphasizing that Thamel should have continued reporting from the crowd, citing the presence of security and the generally friendly nature of fans.
