No. 6 Ohio State plunges for touchdown with 1 second left to beat No. 9 Notre Dame 17-14
Trayanum's score capped a gutty game-winning drive by Kyle McCord and the Buckeyes that included a fourth-down conversion and a third-and-19 completion that got Ohio State to the Notre Dame 1 with time for two plays. After an incomplete pass on first down, the Buckeyes went to a running play with 3 seconds left took advantage of an overloaded defense to one side and what appeared to be only 10 defenders on the field for the Fighting Irish. Ohio State coach Ryan Day was fired up when it was over, going off on former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz, who called out the Buckeyes toughness in predicting a Fighting Irish victory earlier in the week. “I’d like to know where Lou Holtz is right now,” Day said during a postgame interview with NBC. “What he said about our team, I cannot believe. This is a tough team right here.

China an existential threat to US: Indian-American Republican presidential aspirant Nikki Haley
Nikki Haley has claimed Beijing is «preparing for war». China has spent half a century plotting to defeat America and in some respects, the Chinese military is already at par with the US armed forces, Haley said in a major policy speech on the economy in the key early primary State of New Hampshire on Friday. Her speech comes two days after her India-American Republican rival Vivek Ramaswamy delivered a foreign policy speech on China in Ohio. Both Haley and Ramaswamy have emerged as popular GOP candidates after former US president Donald Trump. «Strength and pride are essential to our national survival, especially in the face of Communist China.

Strikes against automakers spread to 38 locations in 20 states, Stellantis and GM are targeted
United Auto Workers said on Friday the union will expand its strike against major automakers by walking out of 38 General Motors and Stellantis plants in 20 states.Ford was spared additional strikes because the company has met some of the union's demands during negotiations over the past week, said UAW President Shawn Fain. The union is pointing to the companies' huge recent profits as it seeks wage increases of 36 per cent over four years. The companies have offered a little over half that amount. The UAW has other demands, including a 32-hour work week for 40 hours of pay and a restoration of traditional pension plans for newer workers. The companies say they can't afford to meet the union's demands because they need to invest profits in a costly transition from gas-powered cars to electric vehicles. The UAW's contract with the automakers expired at midnight on September 14, and workers walked out of a Ford assembly plant near Detroit, a GM factory in Wentzville, Missouri, and a Jeep plant run by Stellantis in Toledo, Ohio.

‘Why Do I Do This Stupid Hobby?’ The Ups and Downs of Riding Every Roller Coaster
Rick Mathews’s big vacation this year was a 23-day jaunt across Europe and North Africa, during which he rode 131 roller coasters. “By the time I got home, I was like, why do I do this stupid hobby?" says Mathews, who is 36 and lives in Manassas, Va. That weariness quickly faded and he’s already talking about a return trip, because Megafobia—a wooden roller coaster in Wales—was closed during his visit.

Republic Prez hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy to unveil plan to declare "independence from China"
Vivek Ramaswamy on Thursday will unveil his plan on how the US will «declare independence from China.» The details regarding the event mentioned on Ramaswamy's official website read, «Political outsider and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will offer unprecedented detail on how the United States will declare independence from Communist China in a speech on Thursday, September 21.» In an address that he will deliver in Ohio's Columbus on Thursday, Ramaswamy said he will «delineate the heretofore-unexamined connection between the rise of 'stakeholder capitalism' in the West and China's use of that trend to achieve economic parity with the US by failing to adopt the constraints that multinational institutions apply to the US», Fox News reported citing a preview of his speech. Further, the preview of his policy speech also includes the use of forced data and technology transfers and even «pro-CCP US lobbying as a condition» to acquire licenses to do business in China, including but not limited to applying constraints in the US while not being able to apply such caps in Beijing. Ramaswamy will speak about what he terms a «pro-trade approach to sensibly decoupling from China» and «knocked conservatives» who do not support a «trade-led agenda» and call it «unserious.» He will call for declaring independence from the climate agenda of the US and «declare independence from China» abroad. He will emphasise that the climate agenda has nothing to do with climate and has everything to do with «allowing Beijing to catch up to the US». The preview of the speech reads further, «Electric vehicle agenda worsens dependence on China for rare earth minerals and mineral refining capacity: when U.S.
