Apple Shell country India removes additional duties on certain US products
duties on about half a dozen US products, including chickpeas, lentils and apples, which were imposed in 2019 in response to America's decision to increase tariffs on certain steel and aluminium products. India had imposed these duties on 28 US products in 2019 in retaliation to the US' move. The finance ministry through a notification dated September 5 informed about removal of duties on the products, including chickpeas, lentils (masur), apples, walnut in shell and almonds fresh or dried, as well as almond shelled. The move comes ahead of US President Joe Biden's visit to India to attend the G20 Summit on September 9-10, which would be preceded by a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. During the prime minister's state visit to the US in June, both countries decided to terminate six WTO (World Trade Organization) disputes and also remove the retaliatory tariffs on certain US products. As part of the agreement, India will be removing additional duty on chickpeas (10 per cent), lentils (20 per cent), almonds fresh or dried (Rs 7 per kg), almonds shelled (Rs 20 per kg), walnuts (20 per cent), and apples fresh (20 per cent). In July, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha had said the government has decided to remove retaliatory customs duties on import of almonds (fresh or dried, in shell), walnuts, chickpeas, lentils, apples, medical diagnostic reagents, and boric acid. The removal of retaliatory tariffs or cuts in import duty with the US did not result in a loss to India, she had said. The US is the largest trading partner of India.

map," China has been questioned by various countries with many of them lodging protests against the nation. Japan is the latest country to join the others in rejecting Beijing's map. According to Matsuno Hirokazu, chief cabinet secretary of Japan, the map's description of the Senkaku Islands is based on Beijing's claims. He said that Japan has lodged a strong protest with Beijing via diplomatic channels and has demanded an immediate retraction of the description on the map. Target Reuters Strategy MCX crude oil at 10-month high. Should you buy at current levels?
On the Comex, Brent Oil futures were trading at $90.420, down $0.180 or 0.200%. After a strong rally, crude oil futures are witnessing some profit-booking at higher levels, but the overall trend remains positive, and a buy-on-dips strategy is recommended, analyst Anuj Gupta, Head Commodity & Currency at HDFC Securities, told ETMarkets. He suggests a buy at Rs 7,050 with a stop loss of Rs 6,950 and a target of Rs 7,300. The prices are at 10-month high levels, the analyst informed. Crude oil futures have gained 5.47% or Rs 377/bbl in September while the year-to-day gains stand at Rs 694 or 10.59%, Gupta said. Analyst Prathamesh Mallya, Deputy Vice President, Research, Non-Agro Commodities & Currency at Angel One, believes that the uptick in prices is on the back of declining US inventories and sustained production cuts by Saudi Arabia and Russia, and the situation could remain as it is, going ahead. Earlier, Reuters reported the US crude oil inventories were projected to fall by 5.5 million barrels in the week ending September 1, quoting market sources in the American Petroleum Institute.

UPS Digital Citizens Action Continental country Why are crude prices rising and what will be the impact on OMCs? Probal Sen answers
Probal Sen, V-P, Equity Reearch, ICICI Securities, says “higher demand from gas fired power would definitely drive prospects for Petronet, GAIL, as well as GSPL. As far as the CGDs is concerned, there was a little bit of a correction post the first quarter results across the board. Specifically, if I look at IGL and MGL, post the first quarter results. I think that confidence is coming back. That is why LNG prices continue to be in a fairly limited range, European inventory remains very comfortable so there is very little chance of additional buying coming through from that continent for LNG cargoes.”China is not coming back the way everybody expected. Europe is still in a disarray. The US economic growth is uneven and crude prices are up. Historically, crude is a function of demand or supply. Both are balancing each other yet crude prices have gone from $75 to $90. Why?I would not quite say that demand and supply are that balanced.

UPS Digital Aware Manufacturing CAD ‘Current rally is comparatively more sustainable’
Indian equity market has witnessed several upswings in recent years, but the current rally is particularly noteworthy for its strength and breadth. Though inflation concerns and risk aversion due to Fitch’s downgrade of US credit rating may have led to some sobering of sentiments in the India Equity, the long-term growth prospects look intact. If we look at the broader macro backdrop in the past cycle, there are notable differences between the current rally vs the pre-covid times — that is, 2013-2018 (especially in mid/small category). The current rally is positively different from the previous rally in the 2013-18 period in several ways.
