Protesters target 277 Tesla locations in US over Elon Musk's government role, demand resignation
Tesla dealerships to express their opposition to billionaire Elon Musk's involvement in the US government, Al Jazeera reported. Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has faced criticism for his efforts to cut government spending and access sensitive data. The protests, organised by a group including disgruntled Tesla owners, celebrities, and a Democratic lawmaker, aim to pressure Musk to resign from his government position. Saturday's demonstrations marked the first coordinated effort to target all 277 Tesla locations in the US, as per Al Jazeera. In New York City, hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the Manhattan Tesla store, demanding Musk's resignation. These demonstrations coincide with a decline in Tesla sales, which the organizers hope to exacerbate further. The protesters were gathered at the call of environmentalists from Planet Over Profit, who believe that «stopping Musk will save lives and protect our democracy.»

Donald Trump set on taking over Greenland at any cost: Here's why he is willing to threaten NATO ally Denmark for the world's biggest island
Greenland on Friday, accusing Denmark of neglecting the territory by “underinvesting” in its infrastructure and communities. The trip, which included a stop at a U.S. military base, coincided with renewed efforts by former President Donald Trump to annex Greenland—a goal he has pursued since his first term. Vance’s delegation, featuring national security adviser Mike Waltz and his wife Usha Vance, faced backlash from Greenlandic leaders, including former Prime Minister Múte Egede, who condemned “American aggression” and reaffirmed the island’s desire for independence.

‘They’ll be better off in India’: American woman shares 8 reasons why she’s raising kids in India
Instagram to highlight why she believes her children will have a richer childhood in India compared to the USA. She listed eight key reasons that make India an ideal place for raising kids. One of the biggest advantages, according to Kristen, is the exposure to diverse cultures, languages, and traditions. Growing up in India allows children to develop cultural awareness and adaptability, making them more open-minded and accepting of different perspectives. Additionally, India’s multilingual environment ensures that her children will learn Hindi alongside English and be exposed to various regional languages. This, she believes, will enhance their cognitive abilities, communication skills, and future career opportunities. Kristen also emphasized that growing up in India will provide her children with a broader global perspective. They will gain insights into different societal norms, regional issues, and global challenges, shaping them into more informed global citizens. Furthermore, the experience of adjusting to a new educational system and social environment will build their resilience, independence, and problem-solving skills.

US warns of possible attacks in Syria during Eid el-Fitr holiday
attacks in Syria during the Eid el-Fitr holiday, which marks the end of Ramadan. According to a report by AP, Eid could begin in Syria on Sunday, depending on the sighting of the new moon. Syrian authorities have said they arrested several militant cells in recent weeks. These groups were allegedly planning attacks in different parts of the country. Since Islamist insurgents from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) removed President Bashar Assad from power in December, Syria's security situation has been unstable. The US State Department issued a travel warning, saying possible attacks could target embassies, international organisations, and Syrian government buildings in Damascus. Although the Islamic State group was largely defeated in Syria in 2019, its sleeper cells are still active. They have claimed responsibility for multiple attacks, mainly in the northeast, which is controlled by US-backed Kurdish-led fighters.

Why the Myanmar earthquake was so destructive
Subscribe to enjoy similar stories. The powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck central Myanmar on Friday was one of the most powerful in the region in years. While the full extent of the damage remains unclear, the United States Geological Survey says it is likely that more than 10,000 people died and that economic losses could exceed the gross domestic product of Myanmar, a poor country engulfed in a bloody civil war.

JD Vance ‘touching up’ Trump’s Cheeto glow? "Hilarious yet horrifying" meme has the internet in stitches
American political satire, and the latest meme making rounds on social media is proof of that. The internet recently has found its newest obsession, an AI-generated video of Vice President JD Vance meticulously applying Cheeto dust to President Donald Trump’s face, as if he were his personal makeup artist. Yes, you read that right. The video, which has been widely shared, seems to draw inspiration from a satirical illustration by The New Yorker's Barry Blitt. The artwork, part of the Kvetchbook series, hilariously imagines Trump commenting on Vance’s supposed makeup habits, with the phrase, “Maybe tone it down with the Maybelline, Captain Eyeliner.” To which Vance responds, “Girl, look how orange you look.” See here If you've been online for more than five minutes, you’d know that jokes about Trump's tan are nothing new. His ever-changing skin tone, ranging from “mildly sun-kissed” to “radioactive tangerine”, has been a long-time favourite among meme makers. But this latest version takes it a step further by throwing JD Vance into the mix, who has been at the centre of his own internet ridicule due to speculation about his eyeliner use. Of course, social media had a field day. Some were amused, some were horrified, and some just couldn't look away.

Myanmar-Thailand earthquake: Are quakes becoming too frequent?
Myanmar and Thailand on Friday has claimed more than a thousand lives so far. Myanmar’s Junta said on Saturday that at least 1,002 people had been killed and 2,376 others injured. The death toll and injuries are expected to rise. In Thailand, at least eight people died in the capital, where a high-rise building under construction collapsed. The devastation caused by the Myanmar-Thailand earthquake, shown in dozens of shocking videos and photos circulating on social media, has caused concerns in India too. India has recorded 159 earthquakes of varying magnitudes from November 2024 to February 2025, with the latest being a magnitude 4.0 in Delhi on February 17, as per a PIB press release. Many people have observed that earthquakes have been occurring more frequently in recent years. While it may seem like earthquakes are becoming more frequent, actual frequency of earthquakes may not have substantially increased. The feeling that earthquakes are becoming common could be due to more earthquakes being recorded and a heightened awareness of natural disasters due to social media. However, human activities like mining, dam building, and groundwater extraction can trigger earthquakes, leading to an increase in the number of human-induced earthquakes.

My companies are suffering because I am in the government: Elon Musk
Elon Musk, in an interview with Fox News, claimed that his companies are “suffering” due to his involvement in the government. He emphasised that his role in the government puts him at a disadvantage, not an advantage. “If I wasn’t in the government, I could lobby. I could push for things that are advantageous to my company and probably get it,” he clarified. Musk heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an advisory body set up by President Trump to cut the federal workforce and eliminate wasteful spending. Concerns about potential conflicts of interest have grown, given his private businesses alongside his government role and its impact on official decisions.

Simultaneous polls' push a bid to deprive people of 'other' religions from voting rights: Sena (UBT)
simultaneous polls, claiming polling will be eventually conducted by excluding people from «other» religions from the voters list under the guise of electoral reforms. An editorial in the Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana claimed the BJP wants only one party to survive in the country and that the «one party one election» is its ultimate goal. Referring to Donald Trump, the editorial stated that while the US President wants to stop Latinos, black Americans, and immigrants from voting, similarly, in India polling will be conducted by excluding people from «other» religions from the voters' list and this will be labelled as election reform. It also pointed to the executive action signed by Trump on Tuesday to overhaul elections. The order makes the documentary proof of citizenship necessary for registration to vote in federal elections and demands that all ballots be received by Election Day. «India is the world's largest democracy, and the US is the strongest democracy. However, it is evident that the roots of democracy are so weak. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump have no faith in democracy and the freedom of expression,» the Shiv Sena (UBT) said.

India could benefit from reciprocal tariffs even as world fears Trump tariff threats. 3 reasons why
reciprocal tariffs, which will likely be announced by US President Donald Trump on April 2, India could see a minimal macro impact or even benefit from the fresh salvo, provided it plays the cards rightly. Before moving on to how India could gain from the tariffs, we should acknowledge that there will be some impact, albeit indirect and minimal. India’s exports would feel the pinch if global trade and growth slow down amid rising trade tensions. However, there is near consensus that this event will most likely be transient unless it evolves into a full-scale trade recalibration.

Elon Musk loses bid to thwart investor suit over Twitter purchase
A Manhattan federal judge on Friday said investors can move forward with claims that Musk committed securities fraud by failing to make timely disclosures to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, posting “misleading tweets about Twitter’s future” and carrying out “a coordinated trading strategy to silently build up” his position in the social media company. Lawyers for Musk and the investors didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
