Kerala to get second Vande Bharat train soon, will operate on Kasaragod- Thiruvananthapuram route
Indian Railways will soon introduce one more Vande Bharat Express in Kerala , said BJP state president K Surendran. Surendran said an assurance in this regard has been received from Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today. The new Vande Bharat train will run from northern Kasaragod to southern Thiruvananthapuram, said Surendran after meeting Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi.

Railways spent ₹1.08 trillion towards safety from 2017-18 to 2021-22: Vaishnaw
₹1.08 trillion on Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh (RRSK) or rail safety-related works during 2017-18 to 2021-22. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Friday, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, “RRSK was created in 2017-18 for execution of assessed safety works with a corpus of ₹1 trillion over a period of five years. The projects taken up under this fund relate to track renewal, bridges, signalling, rolling stock, training and amenities for safety critical staff.

Railways to armour 3000 km of Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah route with Kavach system: Govt
New Delhi: The Railways will armour 3,000 km of its network covering the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah routes with the protection system Kavach system, the government said on Friday. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronic & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “Kavach tenders have been awarded for Delhi – Mumbai & Delhi – Howrah corridors (approximately 3000 Route km) and work is in progress on these routes. Indian Railways is preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) and detailed estimate for another 6000 RKM." He added that Kavach has so far been deployed on 1465 Route km and 121 locomotives (including Electric Multiple Unit rakes) on South Central Railway.

India, Japan sign MoU on semiconductor development
New Delhi: India and Japan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on semiconductor development, which will include design, manufacturing, equipment research and talent development. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the agreement as a substantial step to create a resilient complete value chain. "The MoU is on five fronts, viz. semiconductor design, manufacturing, equipment research, talent development, and bringing resilience to the semiconductor supply chain," said Vaishnaw.

Sheela Foam Ltd, which owns the popular household brand Sleepwell, expects Vande Bharat sleeper trains to open up business opportunities for mattress makers in the country. Foxconn, Vedanta pull the plug on semiconductor JV
Vedanta and Foxconn terminated their joint venture to make semiconductors in India by “mutual agreement” to “explore more diverse development opportunities,” the Taiwanese component maker said Monday. Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) and Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta had announced their joint venture to manufacture chips and display panels in India in February 2022, making it one of the first few participants in the government’s strategically crucial India Semiconductor Mission.
