Acting on his own, the Republican speaker McCarthy faces mounting pressure from his right flank to take action against Biden or risk being ousted from his leadership job — while he also is struggling to pass legislation needed to avoid a federal government shutdown at the end of the month. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha patriarch and former chief minister Shibu Soren was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital in New Delhi following health complications, an official said. His son and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren accompanied the 79-year-old to the hospital, the official added.
