Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Sarangi and Rajput and enquired about their health after they sustained injuries in the Parliament complex, sources said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah in response to a query about Kumar, who heads the JD(U). Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), billed as the world's largest office building, remains largely unoccupied a year after its grand opening by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17, 2023. Although the massive 4,200-office complex has been entirely sold out, only 150 offices have become operational so far, ToI reported. The sluggish response is being attributed to the global slowdown in the diamond business, which has tempered the enthusiasm of traders and manufacturers to shift operations from Mumbai's established diamond hubs and Surat's traditional markets to the state-of-the-art bourse. To spark activity, the SDB has hosted multiple events throughout the year to encourage businesses to move in. Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO), which has been demanding a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) said that the tripartite talks with the Centre and the state government are in an advanced stage. ENPO is seeking a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT)’ comprising six districts for seven backward tribes. ENPO General Secretary M. Honang Konyak said that they are optimistic that the Central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would not fail in fulfilling the proposed offer of FNT by the Centre in the interest of the people of eastern Nagaland.

Mallikarjun Kharge while participating in the Constitution debate, attacked the ruling BJP for promoting "hate politics". Kharge also responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's «jumla» charge at the Congress and said that it's his government which was fooling people with false promises. Arguing against the BJP's charges, Kharge said that it was under the Indira Gandhi government in 1971 that the Indian forces divided Pakistan into two parts and liberated Bangladesh. He also urged the Centre to ensure the safeguarding of Hindu minorities in the neighbouring country. He said that BJP leaders keep abusing Jawaharlal Nehru as well as Mahatma Gandhi and then go on to give lectures on probity in public life. «Merely pointing fingers at each other won't help. The Jan Sangh had once aimed to structure the Constitution based on the laws of Manusmriti. This was the intent of the RSS. Those who despise the tricolour, the Ashoka Chakra and the Constitution are lecturing us. On the day the Constitution was implemented, these people burnt the effigies of Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru at Ramlila Maidan. They insult the Nehru-Gandhi family without shame,» he said.

The Opposition members alleged that several key safeguards of the Constitution are being breached today under NDA rule, leading to encroachments on the rights of minorities, toppling of elected governments and misuse of the office of governor. Intervening in the debate, Union Minister Hardeep Puri emphasized that Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir was an aberration and against the very idea of India while Article 35A was implemented “quickly and quietly” without the consent of Parliament. Praising the “indomitable courage and resolve” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said Article 370 was abrogated despite apprehensions by some that doing so will be akin to playing with fire.

Shashi Tharoor on Sunday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Parliament, urging him to focus on addressing present challenges rather than dwelling on the past. «The answer was already given the previous day by Priyanka Gandhi. Why go on about the past? You are accountable for the present and what is happening today and tomorrow. What happened in the past is history; let historians debate it,» Tharoor said. «Even though I have written extensively about these issues, I am not entering that debate because, for me, the government is responsible for the condition of Indians today, the functioning of the Constitution today, and the future of our youth. While I am impressed by the list of initiatives he mentioned, he always omits the negatives we have been pointing out,» the Congress MP added.

Suchi Semicon has started production of semiconductors without the Centre's incentive and plans to invest $100 million in three years, a top official of the company said on Sunday. Suchi Group chairman and Suchi Semicon founder Ashok Mehta said though the company has applied for the Centre's incentive under SPECS (Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors) and India Semiconductor Mission, it does not want to hold on to production for the sake of incentives. «We have a foolproof business plan. Our business plan is not primarily for incentives. We have set up a plant to do business. The Centre's approval will come when we meet their requirements. We have made $100 million (about Rs 840 crore) investment plan over three years,» Mehta said. He said that the state government has approved 20% incentives for the plant.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Lok Sabha, where he emphasized zero tolerance towards corruption. Raut questioned PM Modi's sincerity, pointing out the presence of allegedly corrupt leaders within the BJP, such as Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde. Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday demanded that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments regarding the PKC-ERCP link project be made public. He said that the newly signed agreement was being kept a secret and people had the right to know whether this project would be beneficial. This comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for the Modified Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal-Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP) on December 17. «The opposition has demanded that the MoU signed between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh government under PKC-ERCP (Modified Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal-Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project) should be made public. People have the right to know whether this project will be beneficial for Rajasthan. The newly signed agreement is being kept a secret. It is being said that the new scheme doesn't have provision for irrigation which was there in the earlier ERCP scheme,» Gehlot told ANI.
