They think, how can someone cross the mark of 400 seats?,» said Yogi Aditynath. He further stated that the people will only vote for the BJP over Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. «A voice comes from people who say that we will bring those who brought Lord Ram. Congress leaders acting as Pakistan spokespersons, promoting vote jihad: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi raked up the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) issue at a BJP rally in North-East Delhi on Saturday when he said those demanding its removal had blocked roads and caused riots in the national capital. The INDIA bloc is backing these protesters even as those fulfilling the criteria are getting Indian citizenship, he asserted. Addressing his first rally of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the capital, Modi alleged that the INDI Alliance is playing appeasement politics and is steeped in corruption. “Congress is playing a dangerous game. Its manifesto says they want to give government tenders also on basis of religion. Even the selection of beneficiaries will be on religious lines. When the CAA came into force, the protesters kept Delhi under siege for months… First the roads were blocked and then riots were engineered (referring to the 2020 riots)… The refugees who had come to India from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are getting citizenship. They are Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis. Most of them are Dalits,” Modi said. He also named some women beneficiaries.

Free bus rides for women: PM lacks info on Metro finances, says Dy CM Shivakumar
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday said Karnataka's Shakti scheme providing for free bus rides for women has not led to any revenue loss for the Bangalore Metro, and he was shocked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments. “The Prime Minister lacks information on the Shakthi scheme and hence he has said that the scheme has impacted revenues of Bengaluru metro. Namma metro has earned a revenue of Rs 130 crore in the last one year. Footfalls too have gone up by 30% for the same period. Bengaluru metro is limited to Bengaluru, while Shakthi scheme has been rolled out across the State," he told the media in Bengaluru. The Dy CM was questioning the PM's assessment of metro finances. The PM, in a recent interview, had questioned the freebies that potentially create a crisis of funds for a state government. The governments, he said, would build metro networks in a city, but later promise free bus rides in the same city to win elections. This meant taking away 50% of passengers.

"Pakistan is roaming with begging bowl, enemies tremble due to our 'dhaakad' govt": PM Modi
Narendra Modi on Saturday said that enemies of the nation have to think 100 times before causing any harm as there is a dhaakad (powerful) government in the country. Referring to Pakistan, Prime Minister Modi at an election rally in Ambala said the neighbouring country, which used to trouble India for the past 70 years, is now roaming with a begging bowl in its hands due to the BJP's 'dhaakad' government at the Centre. «When there is a 'dhaakad' government in the country, enemies too think 100 times before doing anything. Pakistan had been troubling India for 70 years, it had bombs in its hands. Today it has 'bheekh ka katora' (begging bowl) in its hands. When there is a 'dhaakad' government, enemies tremble,» Prime Minister said.

Earlier country-made pistols were produced in UP, now cannon balls are manufactured: Shah
Amit Shah on Saturday highlighted Uttar Pradesh's transformation from a state known for producing country-made pistols to one now manufacturing cannon balls. Addressing an election rally in Lalitpur in favour of BJP's Jhansi candidate Anurag Sharma, who is eyeing a second term, the Union home minister said the state started developing only after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister and Yogi Adityanath the Chief Minister. «There was a time when country-made pistols were produced in Uttar Pradesh. But PM Modi built a defence corridor in Bundelkhand, and now cannon balls are made here,» Shah said. He added that «if Pakistan makes any mistake», the shells made in Bundelkhand will be used to «destroy» the country.

DK Shivakumar rubbishes BJP leader Gowde's claim that he was involved in circulating abuse videos made by Prajwal Revanna
D K Shivakumar and other state ministers on Saturday rubbished allegations about their role in the circulation of pen drives containing explicit videos involving Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. BJP leader and advocate G Devaraje Gowda, who is in custody after being arrested in a sexual abuse case and is also facing charges of video leak, on Friday alleged that Shivakumar and four other ministers are behind the circulation of the pen drives and was being fixed in false cases as he did not agree to be part of their plan. He has even alleged that he was offered Rs 100 crore by Shivakumar to «bring a bad name» to the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and to tarnish the image of JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy in Prajwal Revanna's obscene video case. Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar said, «Better, let him (Gowda) file a case before Lokayukta or any other agency. I think he has some problems mentally. I'm very sorry, the national and state media shouldn't have picked up such baseless allegations. A person who is in jail, how can he make such allegations? All these are baseless. I don't want to comment.»
