Two BSF women constables missing for over a month; 'Suspicious' clues emerge amid search
multi-agency search operation is currently in progress to locate two women constables who have been missing from the BSF Academy in Tekanpur, Gwalior, for over a month. The missing constables, Akanksha Nikhar from Jabalpur and Shahana Khatoon from Murshidabad, West Bengal, were trainers at the academy since 2021. As per a TOI report, they disappeared on June 6, 2024. Authorities have alerted BSF units along international borders about their disappearance. The investigation has taken an unexpected turn following the discovery of “suspicious activity” on the constables’ phones. Tracing the phone records revealed that their devices were active in Delhi, Howrah, and Behrampore in West Bengal, near Murshidabad. Investigators are analyzing phone records and CCTV footage from these locations to understand the constables' travel patterns and investigate any potential connections to Shahana’s family in West Bengal. The last confirmed sighting of the constables was at Beacon Hospital in Behrampore on June 7, as verified by CCTV footage. Both their phones have been switched off since their departure from the hospital.

What to buy with D-St at lifetime high? Keep good company, go for largecap stocks
Sensex has reached a new high. Should you consider waiting for a correction? Well, as veteran investor Peter Lynch famously put it: “Far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections, than has been lost in corrections themselves.” Looking back, previous milestones such as 50,000 and 75,000 appear as buying opportunities. Investors would have earned double-digit returns even if they purchased at earlier 'record high' levels.

UK general election: Record number of Indian-origin MPs elected to Parliament
record number of around 28 Indian-origin members of Parliament have been elected to the House of Commons in the UK's general election as results were announced on Friday, with several Conservatives surviving an overall brutal outcome for their party. Outgoing prime minister Rishi Sunak leads the Tory charge of British Indians holding on to their seats, with a decisive win in his Richmond and Northallerton constituency in Yorkshire. It would have come as small consolation for the Tory leader, who saw his party haemorrhage over 200 seats as the Labour Party's landslide victory unfolded. «On this difficult night, I would like to express my gratitude to the people of the Richmond and Northallerton constituency for your continued support. Since I moved here a decade ago, you have made me and my family feel so at home and I look forward to serving you for years to come,» said Sunak, in a message clearly aimed at dismissing pre-election chatter around his future plans as a politician. Other prominent British Indian Tories holding on to their seats included former home secretaries, Suella Braverman and Priti Patel, as did Sunak's Goan-origin Cabinet ally Claire Coutinho.
