markets Google Strategy Experts social information Investigations Pak-based social media users falsely claim Amit Shah's name put on Interpol's 'wanted list'
social media users recently shared a graphic card to claim that the Interpol had put Union Home Minister Amit Shah on its 'wanted list'. The graphic was shared after Canada's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister David Morrison recently alleged that Shah ordered a campaign of violence, intimidation and intelligence-gathering targeting Sikh separatists inside Canada. New Delhi has vehemently rejected Morrison's claims and warned that such «absurd and baseless» allegations will have serious consequences for bilateral ties. The PTI Fact Check Desk, however, found the graphic to be fake. It was revealed that the Interpol has not issued any such notice and the related social media posts, mainly by Pakistani and Canadian users, were shared with a false claim.

markets COST Platform Strategy Software Experts reports Spinny cuts FY24 net loss to Rs 590 crore; revenue up 14% on year to Rs 3,275 crore
Spinny managed to significantly narrow its net loss during FY24 to Rs 590 crore from Rs 820 crore in the previous year as it undertook rationalisation measures in a year that saw dwindling growth for the pre-owned vehicle sales industry. The Tiger Global-backed company reported a 14% year-on-year increase in operating revenue to Rs 3,275 crore for FY24, according to its financial documents sourced from Tofler. In FY23, Spinny had changed the way it recognised its revenue – calculating cash-and-carry sales in its revenue accounting instead of only commissions earned on sales through the marketplace. That had resulted in its topline jumping to Rs 3,262 crore in FY23, compared to Rs 109 crore in FY22.

markets Citi Strategy awards Experts electronic Headlines Air purifier sales stagnate as marketers fail to capitalise on worsening pollution
Sales of air purifiers are limited to just 3-4 weeks after Diwali, that too mostly in the Delhi-NCR belt, with the market not even growing for some years which forced some top companies such as Samsung, Voltas, Panasonic, Daikin and Haier to either exit the segment or go “very slow”. Industry executives said consumers do not perceive air purifiers as a product which gives tangible value since they can’t see the effect in real time. Sales happen in Delhi-NCR when there is intense smoggy condition and worsening air quality index (AQI) hits the headlines.

markets Digital Strategy Enterprise Research Experts PAM Airtel revenues likely to grow 13-16% through FY27
Bharti Airtel is slated to deliver 13%-16% growth in consolidated revenues/Ebitda compounded annually through FY24-FY27, propelled by a combination of more frequent tariff hikes, a ramp-up of its 5G-based fixed wireless access (FWA) offerings as well as a steady growth of its non-mobile businesses and Africa operations, analysts said. They added that reduced capex spends towards 5G and rural network expansion from FY25 onwards is also slated to help the nation's second-largest telco generate substantial free cash flows (FCF) in the next two fiscals. «With a moderation in capex intensity, Airtel is likely to generate significant free cash flows of ₹33,000 crore-₹43,000 crore in FY25-FY26, which should lead to significant deleveraging and improvement in shareholder returns,» Motilal Oswal said in a research note seen by ET.

markets COST UPS Strategy Experts PAM Realtors approach govt over National Green Tribunal ruling for central appraisals
Real estate developers across the country have approached the government, raising concerns over a recent National Green Tribunal ruling that requires them to secure environmental clearances for projects from central authorities as against state agencies, saying the shift will delay projects and drive up operational costs. Until now, the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) used to grant environmental clearances to real estate projects. This system allowed local authorities, familiar with the regional geography and specific regulations—since land is a state subject—to efficiently approve projects tailored to the area's needs. But an NGT judgment in August unilaterally reversed this situation and directed the ministry of environment & forest (MOEF) to get all real estate projects appraised by the Sectoral Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) at the centre.

The former president's path to the 270 electoral votes needed to capture the presidency gets significantly more complicated if he loses North Carolina.
