Just a week after the Supreme Court ruling to ban affirmative action in college admissions, Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas urged Target Corp to end efforts to racially diversify its workforce and vendor network. He called the US-based company’s programmes “discriminatory" and threatened “significant and likely costly litigation" should Target fail to change its ways. The step from college admissions to corporate employment is not a big one.

Former US President Donald Trump’s transition team is engaging pretty actively with the prominent Republicans as the US Presidential Election approaches while the top candidate for the key positions is Senator Marco Rubio who is being considered for the Secretary of State, reported New York Post. Former ambassador Carlos Trujillo also emphasized on Marco Rubio’s qualifications which is based on his foreign affairs expertise and strong personal rapport with Donald Trump. New York Post reported that the other potential nominees for significant positions include Senators Tom Cotton and Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance as well as Robert O’Brien and Richard Grenell for national security roles. Mike Johnson, the House Speaker claimed that several lawmakers of GOP are targeting the cabinet positions while up to ten will be possibly transitioning if Donald Trump wins the US Presidential Elections. Senator Tom Cotton, following various eminent political personalities who already criticized the US Presidential Debate, has also raised questions about certain claims made by Vice President Kamala Harris during the debate, which were eventually found out to be not valid. According to Fox News, when Kamala Harris made a claim about absence of US Military in the war or combat zones which is a proven lie, she was not at all stopped or fact checked by the US Presidential Debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis. Senator Tom Cotton further asserted that as former President Donald Trump was constantly stopped during his speeches and was being fact-checked by the moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, whereas Kamala Harris was not even fact-checked once in spite of making false claims about the military whatsoever proves that the US Presidential Debate was utterly biased, reported Fox News. Two significant political events will intersect Saturday—the South Carolina Republican presidential primary and the second anniversary of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
