Flight passenger forces plane to return to airport gate over bag, claim reports
flight allegedly forced the plane to return to the airport gate just moments before takeoff because he had forgotten his bag at the terminal. A video of the chaos has gone viral, according to a report. The video footage shows the passenger engaged in a dispute with a flight attendant of the budget airline in the aisle while the Airbus A320, en route to Bangkok, was in the process of taxiing for departure from Chiang Mai International Airport in Thailand, the USA Today report said. Thai Smile Airways airline is yet to make an official statement in this regard. As reported by New Zealand-based publication Stuff, the flight crew presented the man with two options: either disembark from the plane immediately or wait until they reached Bangkok. In the video, a flight attendant was heard asking, «Do you want to go? Or do you want to wait until Bangkok?» The passenger insisted on leaving the plane immediately and sought approval from the captain, stating, «Yes, yes, I want to go now. Ask the captain.» Airport security personnel were then observed escorting the man and his two companions off the aircraft. It is alleged that the bag left behind by the passenger contained money and other valuable items. Following a brief delay, the flight landed safely at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, as per reports.

Air India to lease three 777-300 ER from Singapore Airlines
Air India will lease three Boeing 777-300 ER from Singapore Airlines as it expands its fleet modernisation strategy. These aircraft are in addition to the 11 777 leased aircraft and will be used to phase out the older 777-200 aircraft which were inducted in 2009. These aircraft have older cabins and often have been subject of passenger ire due to crumbling seats, broken lavatories and dysfunctional seat-back entertainment screens.

Go First gets claims worth $2.9 billion from creditors: Sources
Go Airlines (India) Ltd has received claims worth Rs 24,000 crore ($2.9 billion) from operational and financial creditors so far as part of the carrier's ongoing insolvency, two banking sources told Reuters. The process is in line with procedural requirements under Indian law which allow every creditor a right to payment and remedy by submitting claims if a company is under bankruptcy. Once the claims are filed, the resolution professional has to check its authenticity. «Claims from the lenders are around Rs 5000 crore, while lessors' claims amount to Rs 180 crore so far,» a banker with a state-run bank, who has exposure to Go Airlines said, after a meeting of the committee of creditors on Friday. The bankers did not wish to be identified because they were not authorised to speak to the media. Go Airline's resolution professional has yet to verify the veracity of the claims and did not immediately respond to a Reuters' email seeking comment.

Willis Lease Finance not an operational creditor, says SpiceJet
NEW DELHI : Budget carrier SpiceJet has told the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Friday that Willis Lease Finance is not among the four operational creditors of the airline and hence, its petition against the airline to initiate a corporate insolvency resolution process is dismissable. After the hearing, the court deferred the proceedings and the tribunal is now scheduled to hear the matter on 31 July. Challenging the maintainability of the petition, senior counsel representing SpiceJet Krishnendu Dutta said Willis isn’t among the airline’s four operational creditors.
