Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd on Monday said its subsidiary has received a demand notice of Rs 226.32 crore from the Income Tax Department for assessment years 2017-18 and 2018-19. In a regulatory filing, the company informed that the order imposing penalty has been passed against its wholly owned subsidiary Mahadhan AgriTech Ltd. The demand notice dated March 30, 2025, has been issued by Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax- Central Circle, Mumbai. The total penalty demands under various sections of the Income Tax Act 1961 amount to Rs 226.32 crore for assessment years 2017-18 and 2018-19, it added.

Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has declared the Class 10 Matric Result 2025 today. Along with the results, the board has also released the list of top-performing students across the state. National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at 10 locations in Jammu as part of an ongoing investigation into cases related to infiltration. Meanwhile, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a reply opposing Baramulla MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh's plea before the Delhi High Court. NIA has prayed to the High Court to reject the plea as it is not maintainable. MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh, better known as Engineer Rashid, has sought interim bail or interim custody parole to attend the ongoing Parliament sessions. The plea is listed for hearing tomorrow beside the High Court. NIA had filed an affidavit pursuant to the order passed by the Division bench headed by Justice Prathiba M Singh on March 12. It is stated that the present appeal under Section 21 of the NIA Act, 2008 of Appellant accused Abdul Rashid Sheikh, seeking interim bail or alternate custody parole to attend the Fourth Parliamentary Winter Session of Lok Sabha from March 11 — April 4, be rejected as not maintainable and also liable to be dismissed, on merits. The NIA has also stated that the appellant's mere status as a Parliamentarian does not entitle him to claim any exception from the effect of being in judicial custody.

Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2025 results on Tuesday, March 18. However, a bench led by Justice JB Pardiwala said that Jai Corp and others are at liberty to seek quashing of the FIR filed by the Economic Offences Branch of CBI, Mumbai, before an appropriate court, which will decide the case uninfluenced by the HC observations. CBI court has set a fresh eight-day deadline for the accused, booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the IRCTC hotels case, to conclude their counter arguments on framing of charges against them. Last month, the court had set a six-day deadline to conclude arguments on framing of charges against former Union railways minister Lalu Prasad, wife Rabri Devi, son and Bihar's former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and others booked by CBI in the IRCTC hotels case. However, the same could not be concluded.

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced the selection of 60,244 candidates for police constable posts under Direct Recruitment-2023. The results were published on the UPPRPB's website on Thursday. The recruitment exam, initially held on February 17 and 18 last year, was cancelled due to allegations of a paper leak. The incident had also become a political issue during the general elections, prompting the state government to introduce strict security measures at the exam centres when it was held again in August. The recruitment drive had attracted a massive response, with 48,17,441 candidates applying for 60,244 positions.
