Go First's lessor Accipiter Investments Aircraft 2 on Tuesday moved a contempt plea in the Delhi High Court against the airline for failing to share all the documents related to its leased aircraft. These documents included technical records, aircraft status documents, and records required to ascertain the airworthiness of the aircraft. While noting down the airline’s resolution professional’s (RP) stand that he had shared all the records, the HC further directed him to supply by November 30 all the documents to Accipiter and also file a compliance report in this regard. civil aviation ministry on Sunday said as many as 601 routes and 71 airports have been operationalised under the regional air connectivity scheme UDAN, which was introduced eight years ago. UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) is aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity and making flying more affordable. In a release, the ministry said 601 routes, including helicopter routes, have been operationalised, and that around 28 per cent of these routes serve the remotest locations. «A total of 86 aerodromes — comprising 71 airports, 13 heliports, and 2 water aerodromes — have been operationalised, facilitating the travel of over 1.44 crore passengers across more than 2.8 lakh flights,» it added.

DGCA chief Vikram Dev Dutt has been appointed as coal secretary, as part of a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre on Saturday. Dutt is a 1993 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dutt, Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as secretary, Ministry of Coal, according to a Personnel Ministry order.

According to the winter schedule released by civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), airlines have planned 25007 flights per week in the domestic sector, an increase of 5.37% over scheduled flights last winter, and a 3% increase over the ongoing summer schedule. The winter season runs from the last Sunday of October which is the 27th, to the Saturday before the last Sunday of March.

A senior official from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) confirmed that the decision to double the number of Air marshals has been taken recently after assessment of the growing threat and getting inputs from intelligence agencies. «The fresh batch of Air Narshals will be deployed on new international routes added in sensitive category based on intelligence report. Ram Mohan Naidu said that he expects India to have 200 airports in 2025, while 200 more airports will be developed in the next 20-25 years. “The expansion of airport infrastructure is progressing at an unprecedented scale, from greenfield airports in unserved pockets to major modernisation projects in our existing metro hubs, we are on track to have 200 operational airports by 2025,” he said at an event of the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS). Naidu said that the airlines have increased their capacity by almost 9% this year, with 240 million seats across both the domestic and international markets.
