Wipro files complaint against ex-US staffer who joined Cognizant
Wipro has filed a complaint against a former senior executive for violation of a non-compete clause in his employment contract by joining Wipro’s direct competitor Cognizant before August this year. In its complaint, Wipro said Mohd Haque, who quit in June this year, had agreed to certain restrictions on his post-employment activities, including prohibition of work for a small set of Wipro competitors including Cognizant, for 12 months after his employment ended. Upon Haque’s promotion to the role of Wipro’s senior vice president (SVP) and localisation as a US employee, he was eligible to receive more than $1 million in equity awards over many years, said the complaint filed in a US court.

Adani Green executes 1799 MW solar power PPA with SECI
Adani Green Energy Ltd. has executed a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India to supply 1,799 MW of solar power, the company said in an exchange filing on Monday. With this, Adani Green has completed the power offtake tie-up for the entire 8,000 MW manufacturing-linked solar tender it was awarded in June 2020. «AGEL has progressed on the commitments of the SECI manufacturing-linked solar PV tender, including setting up 2 GW of PV cell and module manufacturing facilities,» the company said adding that AGEL has already commissioned a solar PV cell and module manufacturing plant with a capacity of 2 GW per annum through its associate company Mundra Solar Energy Ltd (MSEL). The plant is located at Mundra, Gujarat.

sports ministry on Sunday suspended the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) for blatant disregard for the established legal and procedural norms while noting that the newly-elected body appeared to be in complete control of former office-bearers. After suspending the WFI, the ministry requested the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to constitute an ad-hoc committee to manage and control the affairs of the wrestling federation's governing body. The WFI elections were held on December 21 with former president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's loyalist, Sanjay Singh, and his panel winning the polls by big margins.
