Ahmedabad and Ayodhya for 80 days to facilitate the darshan of Ram Temple after its inauguration in January 2024. Union home minister Amit Shah announced this on Sunday while addressing a public programme at Kalol in Gandhinagar.
While inaugurating a 15-feet statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kalol, Shah said that he had come to Kalol to invite the people of the town.
«There will be a huge rush on January 22, but you all take turns to go to Ayodhya once and chant Jai Shri Ram and visit Lord Ram. One train is scheduled to run from Ahmedabad every day for 80 days,» Shah said.
Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Shah said the party had wronged Sardar Patel for years. «They did not honour Sardar Sahib to run their family shop.
No memorial was built where a great man like Sardar Patel was cremated. Whether Congress was in power or a partner of theirs was in government, Sardar Saheb did not get a Bharat Ratna,» Shah said.
«The man who had the first right on the award, it took40 years for him to get it,» he added. «Once Narendrabhai became the PM, he built the highest statue of the world — Statue of Unity — and a dedicated museum for him,» he added.
Referring to the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir, he said that it was the farsightedness of Patel that had kept the provisions as temporary and another Gujarati son Narendra Modi rooted the temporary provisions out.
Shah also addressed a few more events across his Lok Sabha constituency on Sunday and inaugurated the Gujarat Literature Festival in Ahmedabad later.
