'Sweeney Todd,' featuring Stephen Sondheim's score and Hugh Wheeler's book, started at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on March 26. The production, directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, has seen strong ticket sales. The current cast, alongside Groban and Ashford, includes Gaten Matarazzo from 'Stranger Things,' who concludes his run on November 5. Other members are Daniel Yearwood, Ruthie Ann Miles, Maria Bilbao, Jamie Jackson, John Rapson, Nicholas Christopher, and Jeanna de Waal.

Tata Motors to set up a factory, but a frenzied agitation against the project forced the company to relocate it to Gujarat in 2008 after it had invested a claimed ₹1,800 crore there and was on the verge of rolling out its Nano cars. In 2016, the Singur acquisition was quashed by India’s apex court, but, given the losses borne, news that Tata Motors has won an arbitral award of ₹766 crore (plus interest) as compensation should not surprise us. Nor should the fact that the state’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) government may contest this order, given the key role this party played in the project’s ejection before it achieved power.

IDBI Bank has petitioned the Mumbai bankruptcy bench to initiate corporate insolvency against Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd, which operates the metro line from Versova to Ghatkopar. The lender is seeking recovery of Rs 133.37 crore, including interest component, from Mumbai Metro One, according to stock exchange disclosure. Anil Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure owns a 74% stake in the metro line operator, while the remaining 26% stake is held by Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA), an apex body for planning and coordinating development activities in Mumbai. This was the first metro project awarded in the country on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis and entails the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of about 12 km elevated metro operating between Versova to Ghatkopar with 12 stations en-route. In August, State Bank of India filed a petition at National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) Mumbai bench to admit the company for corporate insolvency for recovery of their Rs 416 crore debt. Other lenders include Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, IDBI Bank and India Infrastructure Finance Company (UK).

Shares of Tata Motors rose as much as 2% in early trade on Tuesday, before trimming some gains, a day after the company was awarded 7.66 billion rupees ($92.00 million) to compensate for its investment in the Singur plant in West Bengal. A three-member arbitral tribunal said Tata Motors was entitled to recover the amount from West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation for the loss of investments related to the automobile facility, according to an exchange filing. The Singur plant, presently closed, was initially set up to manufacture Tata Nano cars with an investment of 10 billion rupees.

Apart from this, the firm's operating revenue increased by 13% at ₹8,145 crore in the September quarter of FY 2023-24, compared to ₹7,219 crore in Q2 of last year, it said in a stock regulatory filing. Marico: Marico Ltd on October 30 reported a consolidated net profit of ₹360 crore for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023-24 (Q2FY24), marking a growth of 17.3% as compared to ₹307 crore reported in the year-ago period.
