FTX Trading on Thursday sued founder Sam Bankman-Fried and other former executives of the cryptocurrency exchange, seeking to recoup more than $1 billion they allegedly misappropriated before FTX went bankrupt. The complaint filed in Delaware bankruptcy court also names as defendants Caroline Ellison, who led Bankman-Fried's Alameda Research hedge fund; former FTX technology chief Zixiao «Gary» Wang; and former FTX engineering director Nishad Singh. FTX said the defendants continually misappropriated funds to finance luxury condominiums, political contributions, speculative investments and other «pet projects,» while committing «one of the largest financial frauds in history.» The alleged fraudulent transfers occurred between February 2020 and November 2022 when FTX filed for Chapter 11 protection, and can be undone--or «avoided»--under the U.S.

New Delhi: India’s pace of road building slowed in the June quarter, road ministry data showed, at a time the government is looking to raise the annual construction target ahead of a series of elections this year and next. According to the data, only 16% or about 2,250 km of the annual target of 14,000 km was built in the first quarter, which typically sees a pickup in construction continuing from increased pace in the March quarter. Road construction stood at 523 km in April and jumped to 1465 km in May, before slumping to 263 km in June.

Olectra Greentech rose 3% to Rs 1,345 in Thursday's intraday trade on BSE after the electric bus manufacturer awarded a contract to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL) for the construction of a greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Telangana. «We would like to inform you that, the Company has awarded a contract for the construction of the greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility on 150 acres of land situated at Seetharampur, Hyderabad, Telangana to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL) which is the ultimate holding company and a related party to Olectra Greentech Limited,» the company said in an exchange filing. As per the contract, construction of the greenfield EV manufacturing facility will be completed within 12 months from the date of approval of the shareholders (July 19, 2023).

This decision came after Aldean faced backlash due to perceived themes of gun violence and lynching in the song. The network received criticism from online critics who viewed the lyrics as promoting sentiments that could exacerbate gun violence and lynching among Aldean's rural, small-town fan base. A CMT spokesperson confirmed the removal of the video from rotation in an email to USA TODAY on Wednesday. Viewers pointed out that certain scenes in the music video were filmed at the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee. This location holds historical significance as it was the site of the 1927 lynching of Henry Choate, an 18-year-old Black man. It is also associated with the infamous Columbia Race Riot that took place in 1946.
