Provident CEO security awards WhatsApp Renewable player Sunkind bags 10.4-MW solar power project in Maharashtra
Sunkind on Monday announced securing a solar energy project of 10.4 MW capacity from the government of Maharashtra. The project has been awarded by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (Mahagenco) under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY 2.0 scheme), the renewable energy player said in a statement. The project specifically includes a 10.4 MWp capacity ground-mounted solar PV technology grid interactive distributed agriculture feeder solarization system, to be implemented at Satmane, Nashik. Sunkind, as the EPC contractor, will provide wide-ranging installation services for the entire solar power system, with the final ownership to be transferred to Mahagenco.

Nagaraju on Monday asked banks to carry out fresh KYC (know your customer) process for Jan Dhan accounts which are due for updation. The PMJDY was launched in 2014 and approximately 10.5 crore PMJDY accounts were opened in mission mode during the period from August, 2014 to December 2014. These PMJDY accounts are becoming due for periodic updation or re-KYC now after 10 years. Nagaraju chaired a meeting with all stakeholders for carrying out fresh Know Your Customer (re-KYC) process for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) account holders, the finance ministry said in a statement. During the meeting, Nagaraju suggested using all means for doing re-KYC — such as fingerprints, face recognition, taking declarations where no change in KYC documents occurred — through all channels like ATM, mobile banking, internet banking, and other available digital channels.

direct tax collection grew 15.4 per cent year on year to Rs 12.1 lakh crore during the period April 1-November 10. Direct taxes include corporate and personal tax. It grew over 21 per cent to Rs 15 lakh crore on a gross basis during the period, a statement issued by the income tax department said. The government said it had issued tax refunds of Rs 2.9 lakh crore.

foreign direct investment (FDI) if the entity breaches the prescribed limit. Currently, an investment made by foreign portfolio investor along with its investor group (FPI) should be less than 10 per cent of the total paid-up equity capital on a fully diluted basis. Any FPI investing in breach of the prescribed limit has the option of divesting their holdings or reclassifying such holdings as FDI subject to the conditions specified by the RBI and Sebi within five trading days from the date of settlement of the trades causing the breach. The RBI has issued an operational framework for reclassification of foreign portfolio investment by FPI to FDI.

Sterlite Power on Monday said it received orders worth around Rs 1,200 crore across its Global Products and Services (GPS) business in September quarter. Its GPS business focuses on sustainable products, and specialized Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services. The cumulative order win in April-September FY25 is Rs 2,700 crore, it said. In September quarter, it bagged new orders totalling Rs 800 crore for high-performance conductors and Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) products. In the domestic segment, the major orders were towards supply of conductors for green energy transmission projects including Angul-Paradeep, Yalwar, and Runija-Indore transmission lines. The export segment saw order wins for high-performance green products from the US, the European Union, Africa, and the Middle East. The company also received India's first 144-fiber count OPGW cable order from a state utility.

The approval by the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for the abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for Diltiazem Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules of strengths 120 mg, 180 mg, 240 mg, 300 mg, and 360 mg, Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd (Alembic) said in a statement. These capsules are indicated for the treatment of hypertension. These capsules may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications. Moreover, Diltiazem Hydrochloride is also indicated for the management of chronic stable angina and angina due to coronary artery spasm, the company said.

Vee Healthtek, owned by South India-based Sona Group, provides a range of services, including revenue cycle management, professional billing, and IT services to hospitals, health systems, pharmaceutical companies, and physician groups globally. The company boasts a workforce of 5,000 employees worldwide, and is expected to post $100 million in revenue in FY25.

Net profit after minority interest declined to Rs 694.60 crores in Jul-Sep from Rs 1,205.40 crores during the corresponding period a year ago. Consolidated net sales decreased by 5.3% to Rs 8,003.0 crores from Rs 8,451.9 crores. “Domestic decorative coatings segment volumes declined marginally while overall domestic coatings revenue declined by 5.5% for the quarter impacted by muted consumer sentiments and extended rains and floods in some parts of the country,” said Amit Syngle, Managing Director & CEO of Asian Paints.

Vistara merger over different retirement age limits for pilots of the two Tata Group-owned airlines as the management is yet to address the issue, according to sources. At Air India, which was owned by the government since the 1950s and came into the Tata fold in 2022, the retirement age for pilots and other staff is 58 years, whereas at Vistara it is 60 years. Vistara — jointly owned by Tata Group and Singapore Airlines — is set to be merged with Air India on November 11 as part of the salt-to-steel conglomerate's consolidation of its aviation business. The sources said resentment is brewing among a section of Air India pilots as the management is yet to formulate a common superannuation age for the integrated entity.

Adani Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd is not a 'transfer of business', but supply of services and hence is liable to GST, the Kerala-bench of the GST Authority for Advance Ruling (AAR) has said. The Kerala AAR ruling is contrary to the rulings passed by the Rajasthan and Gujarat Appellate Authority for Advance Ruling (AAAR) in the case of transfer of Jaipur and Ahmedabad airports and Uttar Pradesh AAR in the case of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. These authorities had exempted such transfers from goods and services tax (GST). The Airports Authority of India (AAI) in its application before the AAR said it has entered into a concessionaire agreement with Adani Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd for the operation, management, and development of the airport for 50 years. The AAI sought rulings from the AAR on a set of queries, including whether the agreement involves transfer of business and whether such a transfer would be treated as 'supply as going concern' and be exempt from GST.

India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) is planning to set up a subsidiary to issue asset-backed securities (ABS) or covered bonds, as it aims to securitise its assets and conserve capital for further business growth. «We are almost reaching the threshold of asset size and loan book that we should have, and we may not really look at the quantum jump in asset size or loan book size. We may have a separate vertical to securitise our own assets,» IIFCL MD PR Jaishankar told PTI. «We will try to grow our assets and generate more assets with the help of the existing assets instead of taking more liabilities...the idea is that assets should beget assets incrementally. That will save the capital that will help our cost of funds go down, our profitability going up, and that will help improve our viability and quality of assets.» The idea is to hive off part of our assets, he said, adding, «We will maintain a threshold, and we will focus on increasing the sanctions and disbursements more as compared to growing the asset size or loan book size».

As per the official data, the government has raised Rs 3,449.18 crore from the OFS. On the first day of the share sale offer on November 6, the institutional investors had placed bids for close to Rs 3,400 crore shares or about 1.58 per cent stake.
