"Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw to move for leave to introduce a Bill to provide for the processing of digital personal data in a manner that recognises both the right of individuals to protect their personal data and the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Also to introduce the bill," the notification said.

NEW DELHI : The government is considering a proposal to allow existing advanced chemistry cell (ACC) battery storage projects to apply for unutilized capacity under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for the sector, two people aware of the matter said. At a 24 July meeting, some industry executives proposed allowing brownfield projects to apply for the capacity not allotted to greenfield projects, according to the people cited above. Currently, only greenfield projects are eligible for the scheme.

NEW DELHI : Cargos and containers full of rice are lying at Indian ports, unshipped after the government announced export restrictions with immediate effect last month. Though most cargos had obtained customs clearance before the directorate general of foreign trade put out the notification banning white rice exports on the evening of 20 July, as much as 200,000 tonnes of the grain are still lying at ports, including 5,000 tonnes at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.
