Centre's decision to block 'Hindutva Watch' account disproportionate: X tells Delhi HC
social media account of 'Hindutva Watch' on the basis of certain alleged offending posts is «disproportionate» and contrary to the law, social media giant 'X' has told the Delhi High Court. X Corp. (formerly known as Twitter), in an affidavit filed in a case, informed the court that there are no reasons recorded in the 'blocking order' of the government which issued the order to block the account of 'Hindutva Watch' despite the objections raised by the intermediary. «It is admitted that respondent no. 1's (Centre) non-disclosure of relevant material to the affected party renders the right to be heard meaningless, as the affected party is unaware of the evidence against them and cannot adequately explain or rebut it,» X said. The court was hearing a petition by journalist Raqib Hameed, founder of Hindutva Watch, seeking to quash the Centre's blocking order issued under the Information Technology Act.

New TRAI rule to come into effect from October 1. Here's what it means for Jio, Airtel, and Vi users
TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) frequently updates its regulations, and a new rule has recently been introduced. This change allows users to easily determine which network is available in their area. TRAI has instructed telecom companies like Jio, Airtel, Vodafone, and BSNL to imp Even though a telecom provider may offer multiple network options, the available network can differ from place to place. For example, just because a 5G network is available in one area doesn’t mean it will be accessible everywhere. As your location changes, the network might change as well. This means the same company may offer different network options depending on your area. It's essential to be mindful of this while using your mobile network. TRAI has mandated telecom companies to provide information about network availability on their websites. This makes it easier for users to check the network options in their location. For example, if you want to see if Jio’s 5G network is available in your area, you can simply visit their website and enter your location to access the information.
