Swimming this summer? Here’s how to avoid getting breathless
Subscribe to enjoy similar stories. As India currently emerges as one of the hottest countries in the world, it’s safe to assume that almost everyone is nursing the desire to dive into a pool at every chance they get. There’s no arguing that rising temperatures can disrupt your fitness routine, but access to a pool also offer a refreshing change from lifting weights in the air-conditioned yet often stifling confines of a gym.A lot of people associate a workout with being slightly out of breath—marked by a high heart rate, sweating, and muscle soreness—all of which signal a decent pump from lifting. These markers can be replicated in a pool workout, sure, but it’s also largely true that very few exercises can replace swimming.

Mint Quick Edit | Messi frenzy in Kolkata: How scarcity pricing can go awfully wrong
A simple market rule-of-thumb has long taken hold. If demand for something vastly exceeds supply, price it—so that those willing to pay or outbid others get the privilege. This may have motivated ticket prices ranging from ₹3,800 to ₹11,800, as reported, for a seat in Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium to catch a glimpse on Saturday of star footballer Lionel Messi.

Non-stop football: Top stars face grueling schedule until World Cup 2026
Thomas Tuchel is worried. Tuchel, the new coach of the England men’s national football team, is concerned that his players will be burned out by the time they arrive in North America next summer for the 2026 World Cup. “I am not so concerned about the number of games the players play in total,” Tuchel said. “I am more concerned that they never have a real break of three to four weeks.” Tuchel is not the first to raise the issue. Last year, FIFPro, the international players union, made its feelings known about the demands placed on athletes in the men’s game, echoing concerns expressed by a range of players — including Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Rodri — about the lack of breaks from the physical demands of competitive matches. It will be worse for some than others Take Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson. He has been out injured since February but is expected to be available again soon. It is unlikely that he will play every game possible and also that Chelsea and his national team, Senegal, will go the distance in every competition they are in, but if they did, he could theoretically be involved in more than 100 matches from now to the end of the 2026 World Cup.

With Lionel Messi watching, Novak Djokovic advances to Miami Open final
Novak Djokovic had some company for another Miami Open victory. With Lionel Messi watching, Djokovic cruised into the Miami Open final by routing 14th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-3 on Friday at Hard Rock Stadium. The fourth-seeded Djokovic is trying for his seventh Miami Open title in his first appearance in the event since 2019. The 37-year-old Djokovic, who won six times at the tournament's previous venue at Key Biscayne, also is going for his 100th professional title. He has been out of form this year, starting with an injury retirement at the Australian Open in January. Earlier this month, he lost his first match at Indian Wells to Botic van de Zandschulp. Djokovic next plays the winner of Friday night's Taylor Fritz-Jakub Mensik semifinal.

Euromillions jackpot at £202 million: Here's how Brits would like to spend the amount
EuroMillions draw on Friday, with the jackpot ticket-holder expected to rake in £202 million (roughly $261 million). This will probably become the biggest ever jackpot prize, going well above the £195 million (or nearly $252 million) bagged by an anonymous UK player in July 2022, Metro reported. Interestingly, £195 million jackpot win came only two months after Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester had on May 10, 2022 managed to win £184,262,899 ($23,84,00,260) with a Lucky Dip ticket from the draw. It was the record-breaking number back then. The UK saw its third biggest lottery win in November last year, when an anonymous ticket-holder managed to scoop a £177 million ($229 million) jackpot in the lucky draw. The top prize at EuroMillions draw got rolled over into Friday's draw after no person was able to get the £182 million (over $235 million) jackpot on Tuesday.
