No Hindu-Muslim angle linked to ban on firecrackers in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday defended ban on firecrackers, saying it is necessary for protecting people from pollution and there is no 'Hindu-Muslim' angle to it. Kejriwal said Diwali is a festival of lights and it should be celebrated by lighting 'diya' and candles instead of bursting firecrackers that cause pollution. «It's not that we are doing any favour to others. We are doing favour to ourselves because ultimately we and our small kids will suffer from the pollution caused (by bursting crackers),» he said in a press conference.

Amerika Franz Kafka
Karl Rossmann, a poor boy of sixteen who had been packed off to America by his parents because a servant girl had seduced him and got herself with child by him, stood on the liner slowly entering the harbour of New York, a sudden burst of sunshine seemed to illumine the Statue of Liberty, so that he saw it in a new light, although he had sighted it long before. The arm with the sword rose up as if newly stretched aloft, and round the figure blew the free winds of heaven. 'So high!' he said to himself, and was gradually edged to the very rail by the swelling throng of porters pushing past him, since he was not thinking at all of getting off the ship. A young man with whom he had struck up a slight acquaintance on the voyage called out in passing: 'Not very anxious to go ashore, are you?' 'Oh, I'm quite ready,' said Karl with a laugh, and being both strong and in high spirits he heaved his box on to his shoulder. But as his eye followed his acquaintance… he realised with dismay that he had forgotten his umbrella down below.

AAP leaders were seen bursting crackers during pollution crisis: Congress leader Abhishek Dutt
Congress leader Abhishek Dutt alleged on Sunday that AAP leaders were seen bursting crackers and celebrating at a time when Delhi was suffering from worsening air pollution. Speaking to ANI, Dutt said «AAP leaders were seen bursting crackers and celebrating at a time when Delhi was suffering from air pollution. These people are responsible for the air pollution here. They only do the work of going and clicking photos. They are the ones spreading confusion among the people of Delhi. This is their old game of fooling the public.» Meanwhile, AAP led government has stated that a major reason behind the deteriorating air quality in Delhi, especially in the Anand Vihar area, is the buses arriving in the national capital from the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh.
