Kejriwal met a family in Naraina whose two members were killed in a span of six months by the criminals. He said that a youth was recently stabbed to death despite complaining to the police fearing for his life from some local criminals. Six months ago, his younger brother was murdered, he told reporters. «Delhi people never witnessed such times of chaos and Jungle Raj all around. Anybody can murder anybody. Delhi breathes easier as AQI improves slightly
The city's air quality was last recorded in the 'poor' category on October 29 with an AQI of 268, according to the CPCB. Experts attribute the improvement to dry northwesterly winds and ample sunlight, which have helped disperse pollutants. However, the city's air quality remains far from ideal as an AQI between 201 and 300 is still considered harmful to sensitive groups.

Big hotel brands see room for growth in manufacturing hubs
hotels are coming up in India's manufacturing hubs, driven by the growing needs of business travellers for quality accommodation. Hotel brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Orchid, Regenta, Vivanta and Ginger are setting up properties in industrial belts such as Vithalapur, Talegaon, Chakan, Bhiwandi, Pithampur, Kalinganagar, Sanand and Hosur. While visiting executives used to stay in hotels in cities close to these industrial areas in the past, increasing manufacturing activities and traffic woes are making them seek accommodation close to their factories. At Vithalapur, a five-star property, the Courtyard by Marriott and Hyatt Place, is expected to become operational within the next 12 months, underscoring the demand for premium hospitality options in this fast-evolving industrial hub over a two-hour drive from the Ahmedabad city. In the automotive town of Talegaon on the outskirts of Pune, the recently opened 100-room Fern Residency has gained traction among business travellers. Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh has seen mid-market offerings like Click Hotel and Sayaji, riding on robust corporate demand from the manufacturing sector. Chakan in Pune district and Bhiwandi near Mumbai are also attracting attention, with Ginger Hotel developing 200-room properties in both locations. These developments reflect the broader trend of hospitality players expanding to locations with significant manufacturing activity.

Syria's second city slips from government control: Monitor
Syria's second-largest city Aleppo has fallen from government control for the first time since the country's conflict began more than a decade ago, a war monitor said Sunday, after a surprise advance by rebels. An Islamist-dominated rebel alliance has pressed a lightning offensive against forces of the Iranian- and Russian-backed Syrian government since Wednesday, the same day a fragile ceasefire took effect in neighbouring Lebanon between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah group after two months of all-out war. The Syrian army — supported by Russian air power — had recaptured in 2016 rebel-held areas of Aleppo, a city dominated by its landmark citadel.

Winters of despair: How Delhi's annual pollution curbs affect construction workers
construction workers rendered jobless following the November 11 ban on constructions, prompted by the Delhi-NCR's air quality plunging to hazardous levels. More such bans are likely to follow throughout the winter. While that is good news for the city's residents, the story is different for these construction workers. «Even though working in the polluted air makes it hard for us to breathe, I would rather work than sit idle,» Raju Singh says, describing the crushing blow the restrictions have on his finances.
