West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh said Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar. Pawar who heads his own faction of the Nationalist Congress Party- Sharad Pawar on Wednesday acknowledged that there were differences within the opposition alliance but said that it could be resolved with the intervention of leaders from leaders of other Opposition parties in other states. “In some cases, we have disputes in Uttar Pradesh (between Congress and Samajwadi Party) on seat sharing and there is no agreement on it. In West Bengal there are more problems, there the parties (in the India alliance) are not even ready to go into an alliance with each other,” said Pawar while speaking to the reporters in Kolhapur. He added, “TMC does not want to go with an alliance with the CPI (m), similarly there are issues with the TMC and the Congress. We have not resolved these issues; in these situations, the seniors (senior India bloc leadership) possibly from outside the state would sit soon (to resolve the issues).”

artificial intelligence (AI) in the next 5-10 years to prevent misuse of such tools in affecting nation states by politicizing the spread of information, said Mustafa Suleyman, cofounder, Inflection AI and DeepMind. “I think the negative consequences here are likely to arise simply because so many people with different organisational interests, different religious and political values will not only affect information but also the real world in practice. How a narrower CAD helps stabilise the rupee
rupee was the most stable emerging market currency in the past year amid global economic uncertainty. What are the factors that contributed to its relative stability? It is largely the narrowing current account deficit (CAD), besides robust economic fundamentals. Atmadip Ray explains how CAD influences the rupee movement and what are the consequences of a high deficit ratio. What is CAD? A country's current account is a calculation of the total value of goods and services imported and exported. If the value of goods and services imported exceeds the value of goods and services exported, then the current account turns into deficit mode. It considers the sum of trade balance and net income of companies from abroad. The current account deficit or surplus is expressed as a percentage of gross domestic product.

For IT firms, deal wins paint a grim picture
The revival hopes for the information technology (IT) sector hinge significantly on the rate of deal acquisitions, yet the December quarter (Q3FY24) witnessed a lukewarm performance in this arena. Following an exceptional second quarter, top-tier IT firms experienced a slowdown in deal wins during Q3. While moderation was expected due to the quarter's typical seasonal downturn, the absence of mega deal announcements and the trend of lengthier deal durations have raised concerns.

RBI action on Paytm Payments Bank has drawn fintechs' attention to compliance of laws: Chandrasekhar
Paytm Payments Bank has drawn the attention of fintech firms to the importance of complying with laws, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said. The minister stressed that regulatory compliance cannot be «optional» for companies, rather it is an aspect every entrepreneur must pay full attention to. In an interview to PTI, Chandrasekhar — the minister of state for electronics and IT — said the issue of Paytm Payments Bank is a case where a hard-charging and aggressive entrepreneur has failed to realise the need for regulatory compliance, and that no company can get away if it is non-compliant with law. Any company, be it from India or abroad, big or small, has to abide by the law of the land, the Minister asserted amid the unfolding Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) crisis.
