COST Target Progressive Action Gap track country What the Asia-Pacific needs to leap forward on climate action
climate action, the Asia-Pacific needs to start delivering on ambitious emissions targets. The Asia-Pacific's greenhouse gas emissions keep rising and in some respects the region is going backwards. Climate action was the only Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 13) in which outcomes went backwards in the Asia-Pacific between 2015 and 2023. Progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 13, taking «urgent action to address climate change», has been a case of two steps forward, one step back in the Asia-Pacific. Over the past two years, countries in the Asia-Pacific have made strides: China and Indonesia have undertaken to transition their economies to net zero by 2060, Australia and most Southeast Asian countries by 2050. COST IPO Provident Digital Platform Strategy Financial India’s growth potential can easily accommodate existing, new players in MF industry: JM Financial MF
Even though the mutual fund industry in India has been competitive, the growth has remained largely steady, thanks to the strong inflows, particularly in the last three years. With newer players such as Zerodha, Groww making their entry into the $560 billion mutual fund industry, and Jio Financial Services looking to soon enter, the competition is likely to get hot. However,Seemant Shukla ofJM Financial Mutual Fund believes that India is quite an underpenetrated market globally, leaving enough opportunities for both existing as well as new players. “The anticipated growth in India can easily accommodate both existing and new players with varying strategies, be it passive or active investments,” Shukla, who is the chief business officer at the asset management company, told ETMarkets in an interview. Shukla believes that digitalisation and digital channels can contribute in a big way to expand the reach. “Considering that the US has multiple asset management companies for a population of 35 crore, it’s clear that we have a long journey ahead of us,” he said. Edited excerpts:Institutional interest in IPO issues has increased significantly in recent times. What’s driving this frenzy? After experiencing significant growth in 2017-18, the IPO market reached its peak in 2021-22, and since then, continued to maintain strong traction.

COST UPS Target show US Fed expected to pause rate hikes despite higher inflation
US Federal Reserve is widely expected to hold interest rates steady on Wednesday after a summer of mixed economic data, while leaving the door open to another hike if needed. The Fed has raised interest rates 11 times over the last 18 months, lifting its key lending rate to a level not seen for 22 years as it tackles inflation still stubbornly above its long-term target of two percent. After falling sharply over the last year, inflation has ticked up again in recent months due to a spike in energy costs, keeping up the pressure on the Fed. But analysts and traders still broadly expect the US central bank to hold rates steady on September 19-20 in order to give policymakers more time to assess the health of the world's largest economy. «We think the Fed is done with its tightening cycle,» EY Chief Economist Gregory Daco told AFP.
