Trump using election lies to lay groundwork for challenging 2024 results if he loses
Donald Trump has spent months laying the groundwork to challenge the results of the 2024 election if he loses — just as he did four years ago. At rally after rally, he urges his supporters to deliver a victory «too big to rig,» telling them the only way he can lose is if Democrats cheat. He has refused to say, repeatedly, whether he will accept the results regardless of the outcome. And he's claimed cheating is already underway, citing debunked claims or outrageous theories with no basis in reality. «The only thing that can stop us is the cheating. It's the only thing that can stop us,» he said at an event in Arizona late Thursday night. In 2020, Trump prematurely declared victory from the White House. He launched a legal and political effort to overturn his loss to Democrat Joe Biden that culminated in the storming of the Capitol by his supporters on Jan. 6, 2021.

North Korea says will stand by Russia until 'victory' in Ukraine
North Korea will stand by Russia until its victory in Ukraine, Pyongyang's foreign minister said in Moscow Friday, as the United States warned thousands of North Korean troops could be sent to combat in the Ukraine conflict in the coming days. North Korea's Choe Son Hui is on a visit to Moscow as the West believes up to 10,000 North Korean troops are on the brink of entering the more than two-year conflict on Russia's side. US intelligence has said some North Korean forces have made their way to Russia's Kursk border region, with Washington and Seoul urging Pyongyang to withdraw its troops.

North Korea will back Russia until victory in Ukraine, foreign minister says
North Korea will back Russia until it achieves victory in the Ukraine war, Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui said on Friday at talks in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. «Our traditional, historically friendly relations, which have travelled the tested path of history, today… are rising to a new level of relations of invincible military comradeship,» she told Lavrov, praising the role played in this by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin. She said Pyongyang had no doubt that under Putin's «wise leadership» the Russian army and people would «achieve a great victory in their sacred struggle to protect the sovereign rights and security interests of their state.»

Trump is 'unstable', 'obsessed with revenge', 'out for unchecked power': Kamala Harris
Donald Trump is «unstable», «obsessed with revenge» and is «out for unchecked power», Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris said on Friday in an unprecedented attack on her Republican rival ahead of next week's US election. In a rally at Las Vegas, 60-year-old Harris, who is of Indian and African heritage, said Trump, 78, is all about «hate» and more division and that he would bring an «enemies list» to the White House, while she would carry a «to-do list» of priorities. Singer Jennifer Lopez joined the Democratic leader at the rally and called on voters, especially Latino Americans, to support Harris as cares about «not just some Americans, but all Americans». «We all know who Donald Trump is. He is not someone who is thinking about how to make your life better. He is someone who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance and he is out for unchecked power,» Harris said at the rally.

US asked Lebanon to declare unilateral ceasefire with Israel, sources say
They said the effort was communicated by U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein to Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati this week, as the U.S. stepped up diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. Mikati's office in a statement to Reuters denied the U.S. had asked Lebanon to declare a unilateral ceasefire. It said the government's stance was clear on seeking a ceasefire from both sides, and the implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the last round of conflict between the two foes in 2006.
