No bigger issue than unemployment, PM Modi ruined future of youth: Mallikarjun Kharge
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday claimed there is no bigger issue in the country than unemployment and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must remember that every youth, whose employment has been «snatched away» by his government, will ensure the BJP's defeat in every election. Citing Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) data, he said that despite all efforts, this government data is not able to hide the helplessness of the youth. «There is no bigger issue in the country than unemployment. Modi ji has the biggest contribution in ruining the future of the youth. If we take a closer look at the latest data of PLFS, despite all efforts, this government data is not able to hide the helplessness of the youth,» Kharge said in a post in Hindi on X. «Narendra Modi ji must answer — Isn't youth unemployment at a frightening 10.2% in 2023-24? Instead of giving colourful slogans and doing photo ops, what did Modiji do to provide jobs to the youth?» he asked.

Will RBI follow the global trend on rate cuts? Ashishkumar Chauhan answers
«Broadly speaking, across the world, the monetary policies are synchronised with some lag or some sort of advanced framework, so that is where if inflation in a particular country is under control, they would try to synchronise with the rest of the world going forward,» says Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, NSE. We have seen a stimulation in the Chinese economy. What kind of an impact do you think it will have here in India? Ashishkumar Chauhan: Broadly speaking world is connected, at the same time China is going through its own issues on their economic front, especially with real estate and it seems to be a grave situation there on many counts and that is where the government there has taken these steps first time to even distribute money for their national holiday and that is showing you that that particular economy is going through the stress.

In global game of influence, China turns to cheap and effective tool: fake news
Kurt Campbell travelled to the Solomon Islands to counter Beijing's influence in the South Pacific country, he quickly saw just how far China would go to spread its message. The Biden administration's Asia czar woke up one morning in 2022 to a long article in the local press about the US running chemical and biological labs in Ukraine, a claim that Washington calls an outright lie. Started by Russia, the false and incendiary claim was vigorously amplified by China's vast overseas propaganda apparatus. It was another example of «clearly effective Russian and Chinese disinformation,» Campbell told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in July. Two years later, the claim still reverberates online, demonstrating China's sprawling effort to reshape global perceptions.

Uttarakhand govt set to bring new land laws to keep check on purchase by non-residents
Uttarakhand is set to introduce “«stringent land purchase law» in the next budget session of assembly to keep a check on large-scale land purchase in hilly areas from other parts of the country. The upcoming move was disclosed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday, reported TOI. Further, the government is planning to identify non-residents who have violated existing norms, which allow only 250 sqm of land to be bought for personal use in non-municipal areas. By doing this, it will reclaim land that is illegally acquired. There have been seveal allegations where buyers have flouted norms by acquiring land in the names of relatives or failed to meet the commitments they made when purchasing land for commercial use, and instead «increased their personal land bank.»

Pakistan must realise cross-border terrorism against India will invite consequences: Delhi's strong Right of Reply in UNGA
India has slammed Pakistan in the UN General Assembly, saying its «fingerprints» are on terrorist incidents across the world and the country should realise that cross-border terrorism against India will «inevitably invite consequences». India exercised its Right of Reply in the UN General Assembly on Friday in response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raising the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in his address at the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. «This Assembly regrettably witnessed a travesty this morning. A country run by the military, with a global reputation for terrorism, narcotics trade and transnational crime has had the audacity to attack the world's largest democracy,» First Secretary in India's Permanent Mission to the UN Bhavika Mangalanandan said, delivering India's Right of Reply.
