Tata Motors embracing structural shifts from a position of strength and confidence: N Chandrasekaran
Tata Motors business units’ next phase of growth will encompass focussing on market beating growth, improving margins, and enhancing customer experience in the current year, N Chandrasekaran, chairman Tata Motors, wrote in a letter to the shareholders in the company’s 79th annual report. With the turnaround the company is embracing the structural shifts which includes an irreversible move to green mobility, rebalancing of supply chains to achieve resiliency digital acceleration with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning becoming mainstream, from a position of strength and confidence. The company’s UK subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover, which delivered record operational performance in the year gone by, “will continue to double down on its journey to become a premium luxury OEM, deliver strong revenue growth, improve profitability further, drive positive free cash flows, focus on enhanced customer love and continue to invest in products and technologies,” wrote Chandrasekaran. Over the next three years, JLR plans to launch a raft of new models in the internal combustion engine and electric vehicle segments.

Ticketmaster breach: Data of 560 million customers stolen, hackers claim
Ticketmaster customers — more than half a billion people — and is offering the pilfered data on the dark web for US$500,000.The data includes customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers and partial credit card details, including the last four digits of credit and debit cards and card expiration dates, according to HackRead, which first reported on the data breach.Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation have yet to confirm that the data breach took place and they have not made a public statement about the hacker’s claims. Ticketmaster did not respond to a Global News request for comment.The group that says it carried out the hack is called ShinyHunters, which has been behind a number of high-profile data breaches targeting Microsoft, AT&T and Mashable.

Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL) has launched a pilot programme on the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) through Fynd, an omnichannel retail platform where the Reliance Industries unit has a stake, people in the know said. Currently, one Reliance Retail store called Shri Kannan Departmental Store in Madurai in Tamil Nadu is live on the seller side of ONDC through Fynd. «This is being done as a pilot. A few more stores in Tamil Nadu are in the pipeline. They are testing it out. If it works, then Reliance Retail will scale it up to five stores and then to 100 stores on ONDC. Gradually all brands owned by Reliance Retail will go live on ONDC,» a source said.

Jio Financial Services launches app to take on its fintech rivals
Jio Financial Services (JFSL) has launched a new app named Jio Finance which is poised to compete with other major fintech applications. The app is currently in a beta testing stage and will be fine tuned after user feedback, the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges on Thursday. Jio Finance will offer UPI payments, bill payments, insurance advisory and digital banking. Eventually Jio Financial Services will offer credit products like loans against mutual funds, home loans and others to its customers through the app.

Unveiled last year, MasterCard Crypto Credential helps verify interactions among consumers and businesses using blockchain networks. The pilots will see users from a host of countries on the Bit2Me, Lirium and Mercado Bitcoin exchanges send cross-border and domestic transfers across multiple currencies and blockchains. Users will also be able to send and receive crypto using their Mastercard Crypto Credential aliases, instead of the typically long and complex blockchain addresses.
