UPS Digital Booking wellness innovations rights sprint Bottoming out on revenue side; running a marathon and a sprint at the same time: TCS Management
K Krithivasan, CEO & MD and NG Subramaniam, COO, TCS, in conversation with ET Now. Krithivasan says: “This quarter we started talking about both AI plus generative AI pipeline, it is about 900 million for us. The revenue numbers, once it becomes material, we would start declaring that number also. But that revenue would be not only directly what you do using generative AI. So much work needs to happen in terms of getting the data ready, in terms of cloud migration as is required. Generative AI is going to have a long tail of other kinds of related work that needs to happen. Subramaniam says: “I would agree, except that one more thing I will add is that we are growth, efficiency, innovation or AI innovation, all happening at the same place, at the same time, and in a way that we are running a marathon and a sprint at the same time.” Is growth back? K Krithivasan: We have been looking at our TCV for the last four quarters. We have been reporting very impressive TCV and we believe that with this TCV, growth has to come back. But we do not know whether it will come in Q1 or Q2. I do not want to make that call. But overall, we believe FY25 would be a better year than FY24.

markets COST UPS IPO Digital Interviews M&A deal activity set to pick up this year, may touch $75 billion: Ganeshan Murugaiyan, BNP Paribas
Indian firms are likely to step up mergers and acquisitions (M&As) this year, with deals worth $75 billion estimated in 2024 against about $60 billion last year, said Ganeshan Murugaiyan, head, corporate coverage and advisory, BNP Paribas, India. In an interview to ET, the veteran investment banker pointed out acquisition opportunities in areas where geopolitical volatility had rendered some industries uncompetitive. Edited excerpts: The previous year was a lean one for M&A activity everywhere. What are clients saying about 2024? Last year, volumes were down almost 30-35% from what we saw in prior years. There were many factors, but if you look at 2024, the momentum is building up quite a bit. One is that clearly you have a lot of M&As within India. When I say domestic, a big component which has got added now is private equity. In a lot of assets, controlling stake by private equity may change hands this year. In India, my guess is that M&As should be somewhere around $75 billion versus around $60 billion last year.
