Regular SIP or trigger SIP, what is right for you? Gautam Kalia answers
Gautam Kalia, Head-Super Investor, Sharekhan By BNP Paribas, says “investors who have spent some time in the market and who have got a certain amount of experience consider trigger SIPs to enhance their SIP returns. Also most of these investors have a large lump sum amount. So when you have a large lump sum amount but you are not extremely comfortable with current market valuations and then you want to move that money in a staggered form back into the market that is really when trigger SIPs work wonders for investors.” The rule of SIP is to never stop it if you want to really make the most of your investment in mutual funds via SIPs. Markets are always going to be volatile, but then discipline is the key ingredient to having a great corpus and maybe even to get the power of compounding activated. In what way do you think it is a bad financial call to stop your SIP? The easiest way to explain it is you go to a shop regularly to buy clothes and you go to the same shop one day to shop and you realise that things are on sale and that is the one day you decide not to buy because things are on sale and really that is how you need to view the market as a long term SIP investor.

Fractional ownership is unlocking new opportunities for investors in real estate
With the real estate sector spreading its roots across key markets driven by rising demand and strong sales, investors are now more actively looking for avenues to get big slices of the growth pie. Over the years the real estate sector has become more mature due to the introduction of regulations, and this has begun to garner positive interest from investors. What truly democratized the sector is the introduction of investment concepts like Fractional Ownership which allows individual or retail investors to invest in high-value properties and earn fixed returns from rent-generating assets.

Asian Paints Q2 numbers weak, demand should pick up from Q3: Preeyam Tolia
Preeyam Tolia, Equity Research Analyst- FMCG & Retail, Axis Securities, says “we believe that the Q3 onwards, the demand should pick up for the paint segment. Anyway, it was expected that Q2 would be more sluggish but this is more than what we anticipated.” Asian Paints numbers seems to be a miss, especially volume growth was below what we were expecting. It has come in at 6% for the decorative business. So first cut for Asian Paints, how are the numbers looking to you? Definitely the numbers are weak in terms of top line and the bottom line as well because it is below our estimates. We anticipated a revenue growth of 3% led by 5% volume growth. However, the volume growth is better than our estimate, which the company reported of 6%. We believe that the delay in the festive season, which shifted towards the second half of the year, has impacted the overall demand. So yes, the numbers are weak.

This is the time to buy, market should be okay from December: Sandip Sabharwal
Since the Nifty and the Sensex moved up around 20%, there should be a 10% kind of give up because I do not see it going more than that. Now we are maybe 300-400 points away from that in terms of the Nifty, so that is what should be the worst case. I do not see it going below that, says Sandip Sabharwal, asksandipsabharwal.com Are we just aligning ourselves with the rest of the globe given the outperformance we have had in the past? Yes, reasons for the corrections come later, but the view was that there should be some sort of correction after the euphoric up move, especially in the small and midcap side because when that kind of euphoria comes in and the kind of crazy valuation which IPOs were getting or are still getting, that is not good for the market so that is the phenomenon which is playing out. That said, my view was that since the Nifty and the Sensex moved up around 20%, there should be a 10% kind of give up because I do not see it going more than that.
