Gopal Vittal asks Airtel executives to be on ground today to fix customer issues
Bharti Airtel's managing director Gopal Vittal has called on the telco's 19,000-odd employees, including senior executives, across India to cancel all business meetings on Tuesday and spend the entire day on the field with customers to get a fix on service challenges they face, even as the Sunil Mittal-led telco readies to launch 5G services nationally by the month-end. The exercise is part of a national brand-building drive to position Airtel as a customer-obsessed telco that is keen on eliciting direct market feedback from its target audience on the state of its 2G, 4G and 5G mobile operations as well as home broadband services. «These interactions will help us understand customer needs on a deeper level. Tomorrow (March 12) is also an opportunity for you to discover first-hand what challenges our frontline staff face and how they serve customers,» Vittal wrote in an internal email communication to all Airtel employees Monday. ET has seen a copy of the Airtel MD's letter.

Brainstorming underway at highest echelons of India’s tax admin to figure out ways to deal with 'retrospective’ character of black money law
tax administration, a brainstorming is underway to figure out ways to deal with the ‘retrospective’ character of the Black Money law — a disputed feature of the stern statute that was passed nearly a decade ago to overcome the limitations of the Income Tax Act and target wealth stashed abroad. In the past few years, hundreds of writ petitions have been filed in multiple high courts of the country, challenging the sweeping power of the Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act (BMA) that empowers the taxman to go after foreign bank accounts and assets which were opened or acquired years ago but discovered only recently by the I-T department. The petitions before the court have questioned whether a law — that could put the offender behind bars for 7 years — can be used to punish someone for an offence that was committed when the specific law did not exist. Such a safeguard allowed under the Constitution has put the powerful BMA in a limbo, with some of the courts granting stay, the tax office unable to recover money in many cases, and several assessments coming to a halt.

How much cash can you legally keep at home in India?
Often we hear the news of the income tax officials raiding the premises of someone for keeping unauthorised cash and other valuables at home or in office. In some cases, such cash and valuables get seized and in some other cases, the concerned persons also get arrested. Keeping this in view, the question that comes to our minds is: Is keeping a substantial amount of cash a crime in India? Or, how much cash one is allowed to keep at home?

A large number of important persons in the education sector of this government are now languishing in jail, under trial,» he told ANI. «Thereafter, now I am taking labour matters. There are also large scams of employers concerning provident fund gratuity, etc. I have also passed certain orders in those respects. Let's unfurl abundance
wealth and spiritual essence intertwine, the concept of abundance unfurls its sails, with the winds of cosmic generosity. It is not merely a measure of possessions but an attitude cultivated within that beckons us to traverse the seas of plenty, steering away from the shallow waters of scarcity ingrained since childhood. The journey toward abundance commences with a deep introspection, peeling back the layers of conditioned scarcity. Despite the ostentatious opulence one may possess, scarcity mindset is rooted in our upbringing. Abundance, therefore, transcends the mere accumulation of wealth; it is an individual set of values and an attitude to 'give' generously. The air we breathe, sunlight that bathes the earth, the endless expanse of water, the vastness of space and the twinkling stars have all been bestowed freely upon us. Ultimate philanthropist nature teaches us that abundance is a birthright, not an earned privilege.
