Himanta Biswa Sarma would have been nowhere without Congress: Jairam Ramesh
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma «would have been nowhere» without the grand old party which had given him «identity and position» during its rule in the state. The Congress general secretary, in an interview with PTI here, claimed that Sarma was among the first to quit the grand old party when it lost power and join the «washing machine of BJP». «The Congress gave him identity and position, along with authority and responsibility, during the tenure of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi but he chose to betray the party when it was not in power. It is a matter of great sorrow that those given a responsible position turn out to be opportunists. But that has not shattered our self-confidence,» he said. «Opportunists» leaving the Congress actually work in the party's favour, making way for ideologically committed youngsters, the Rajya Sabha MP said.

Consumption down, but Vanaspati weightage in WPI still high
wholesale price index (WPI) after palm oil, whereas sunflower and soybean oils, which are now consumed more, get a lower weightage in the WPI of 2011-12, an anomaly which may lead to erroneous data about inflation. The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) recently wrote to the Centre, urging it to correct the weightage of different oils in the WPI to reflect the present consumption pattern. The weightage of edible oils in the WPI is 2.64293% under the food articles category. It is based on the consumption and the average price.

We should bridge the AI-human trust gap on ESG reporting
For every AI action, there is awe that goes with an equal and opposite reaction of scepticism.’ This is how Newton’s third law might be rewritten for artificial intelligence (AI). That there exists a trust gap on all things AI is a reality; equally, there is blind acceptance of much that AI delivers. Among the early adopters of AI are organizations using it for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reports.

Flipspaces delivers Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited’s new office spanning 1 lakh sq.ft in record time
While speaking to the design team at Flipspaces, we uncovered the secret sauce behind the awe-inspiring designs that we see. The journey started with an immersive engagement with the BFIL team, where Flipspaces conducted extensive focus group discussions to grasp the diverse aspirations across multiple stakeholders. This research-driven approach served as the cornerstone for coming up with the winning formula of a vibrant, biophilic, and rural-themed design. These three themes are beautifully complimented in every nook of the office across meeting rooms, reception, workstation bays and breakouts. The moment you enter the office you will be welcomed by rural-themed murals representing various facets of rural India, empowerment of which is the vision of the BFIL brand. The meeting rooms depict art and culture of various states where BFIL is present, through interesting wall graphics and artefacts. Biophilia is a common thread in high-density zones such as workstation areas, where the natural greens give a soothing effect to the eyes. Across the office, we see colour-blocking at its best through vibrant hues to break the monotony.

Indiabulls RE, Embassy merger delay unsettling stakeholders: Jitendra Virwani
Indiabulls Real Estate (IBREL) and Embassy Group is hampering decision-making process, impacting the listed real estate firm's growth plans and unsettling stakeholders, Jitendra Virwani, the group's chairman and founder, told ET. First announced in 2020, the merger was expected to create one of India's largest property developers. The merger scheme has been approved by regulators and 99.99% of IBREL shareholders, and is currently awaiting nod from National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). «The delay in the merger between the company (IBREL) and the Embassy Group has been detrimental for both the companies and their stakeholders due to its prolonged uncertainty,» Virwani said in an exclusive interaction. «With one promoter stepping off and the other not being able to take control, there has been a lag in decision making and in taking the company forward despite the real estate sector witnessing one of its best growth years.»
