If you’re a painter, playing for India is your dream canvas to paint: B Sai Sudharsan
B Sai Sudharsan has been one of the most consistent batters in this IPL – 74, 63 and 49 in his three outings for Gujarat Titans so far. The left-hander spoke with Boria Majumdar about the team, dressing room culture, presence of Jos Butler and his India ambitions. Excerpts Q: You’ve been incredibly consistent this season. What’s the secret? A: I’m glad I’ve been able to make a difference to my team. I’d say I have understood the T20 game better in the course of the last year and know what I need to do to be consistent and not push things too much. I have worked hard and prepared very well and if I do what I know how to do, runs will surely come. Q: How is it opening the innings with your captain Shubman Gill and how is he as a leader? A: He’s an excellent leader of men. He gives you the freedom to say whatever you feel and batting with him is an absolute pleasure. With him at the other end, you know he will soak in the pressure and play some incredible shots. Your job becomes easier that way and you can just focus on your own thing. Q: Did you enjoy batting with Jos Butler, one of the best white-ball batsmen? A: Absolutely true. Jos is such a calming influence out there. You know there is someone who is in control. He will constantly encourage you and also make sure you don’t feel the pressure. He is a leader and you will know it if you bat with him. I have enjoyed every minute we have batted together and learnt a lot in the process.

SKY is a joke, glad he is in our team: Rickelton left gobsmacked by Suryakumar's trademark shot
Ryan Rickelton was left gobsmacked after witnessing Suryakumar Yadav execute his trademark shot, something he is not willing to pull off anytime soon. During the Mumbai Indians encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at Wankhede on Monday, Suryakumar made his presence felt with a pulsating cameo towards the end. In a low-scoring encounter, Mumbai were asked to chase down 117 by the Knight Riders. Rickelton had done most of the job by the time Suryakumar arrived at the crease. On his second delivery of the night, Suryakumar effortlessly unleashed his trademark shot. Without wasting much time, he got across the line and scooped it over the fine-leg boundary straight into the stand. «I just said to Quinny that SKY is a joke, stuff that I can't do, stuff that I can't dream of. He has played that shot many a time, I'm not going to try it but I'm glad that he is in our team,» Rickelton said after the match.

Did Steve Jobs predict LLM-based AI in 1985? His fascination with this Greek philosopher suggests he did
Steve Jobs was a man of boundless curiosity. The Apple co-founder, who revolutionized personal computing, music, and smartphones, was also a deep thinker with an insatiable hunger for knowledge. But there was one question he could never ask—at least, not in his lifetime. In a 1985 talk in Sweden, Jobs revealed an unusual source of envy: Alexander the Great. The reason? The young conqueror had Aristotle as his personal mentor for over a decade. «I read this, and I became immensely jealous,» Jobs admitted. He could read Aristotle’s works, of course, but what he truly craved was interaction—an opportunity to ask questions and get answers from the philosopher himself. And then, he made a prediction. A bold one. A hope for the future:

Naxalism got encouragement for decades due to Congress' policies: PM Modi
Naxalism got encouragement for decades in Chhattisgarh and other states due to policies of Congress. Addressing a public meeting in Mohbhattha village in Bilaspur district, Modi said the situation is rapidly changing and a new era of peace is setting in Naxal-affected areas. «Over the decades, Naxalism got encouragement in many states including Chhattisgarh due to policies of Congress. Whichever region lagged in development, Naxalism flourished there, but what did the party that ran the government for 60 years do? It declared such districts as backward and turned away from its responsibility,» he said. He said many mothers lost their beloved sons and many sisters lost their brothers (in Maoist violence). «The indifference of erstwhile governments was like adding fuel to the fire. You (Chhattisgarh) have also suffered it (the Naxal menace). The (previous) Congress government never took care of amenities of poor tribals,» Modi said and listed the Centre's initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which gives free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh… The PM said under the double-engine government, the situation in Chhattisgarh has been rapidly changing.
