So much to learn from India, says UK minister
artificial intelligence (AI) and space science, said a Cabinet minister in Prime Minister Keir Starmer-led government. Addressing a Diwali celebration organised by the Labour Indian diaspora group on Monday evening, UK Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Liz Kendall reiterated the party's manifesto for the July general election committed to pursuing closer ties with India and a free trade agreement (FTA). As a member of Parliament from Leicester West, a constituency closely associated with the British-Indian community, the minister said she remains determined to champion the India-UK relationship in the Labour government and her city. «It was a very clear part of our manifesto that we want to build a new strategic relationship with India because we understand the vital relationship between our two great nations,» said Kendall.

Should Kamala Harris opted for an interview with Elon Musk on X? She rejected the offer and it could prove costly
Mark Cuban has voiced his opinion on the «Squawk Box» of CNBC that he had the offer of facilitating a meeting between Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. According to The Hill, the campaign of Kamala Harris has rejected this proposal stating the concern about the potential of Elon Musk of misrepresenting the conversation on X while Mark Cuban also mentioned that they just do not trust Elon Musk as he can do something to distort the purpose of the meeting. In response to the comments of Mark Cuban, Elon Musk wrote on X sharing his desire to be involved in a live discussion session for preventing any kind of misinterpretation. Though later, Mark Cuban rectified his earlier remarks with the suggestion that he should have used ‘disclosure’ instead of using the term ‘distortion’, reported The Hill. US election 2024: Kamala Harris, Joe Biden are facing 'dangerous development' and it's not about Donald Trump
Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump are fighting the US election 2024. «We are consulting with our allies and partners on the implications of such a dramatic move,» deputy U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Robert Wood told the 15-member United Nations Security Council. Russia invaded neighboring Ukraine in February 2022. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has accused Pyongyang of preparing to send 10,000 soldiers to Russia. Ukraine's U.N. Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya told the Security Council on Monday: «These troops are expected to be ready for war against Ukraine by November 1.»

Ukraine's Zelenskyy says only US green light on NATO invitation will sway reluctant Germany
NATO — is not welcome by some key Western partners, in particular Germany. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia was also likely looking at the postelection scenario in the US to assess the possibility of cease-fire talks with Ukraine. He assessed that if partial cease-fire deals could be reached over attacks on energy infrastructure and Black Sea shipping routes, it would signal the end of the «hot phase» of the war. Zelenskyy spoke to journalists on Monday and his comments were embargoed until Tuesday. On NATO, Zelenskyy said France, Britain and Italy have shown signs of support. Germany has reservations, however, and Zelenskyy believes only a US green light will convince Berlin to accept the idea.

My presence not needed when talks are between BJP and Shiv Sena: Ajit Pawar
Ajit Pawar on Tuesday said the ruling Mahayuti alliance, led by CM Eknath Shinde, has almost finalised its seat sharing deal for the November 20 Maharashtra assembly elections. «Some seats have been finalised, while a decision on the remaining seats is expected today,» the NCP president told reporters. «There is no reason for me to be present at the meeting when the decision on some seats is to be taken between the BJP and Shiv Sena,» Pawar said, on his absence at the talks between leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena in Mumbai on Monday. The three (party leaders) are present when discussions concern all the three constituents of the Mahayuti alliance, he added. «As some candidates had to keep up with the „muhurat“ for filing of nominations, they have been allotted our party's A and B forms,» Pawar said. The A and B forms are important documents, which denote that a certain candidate has been approved by a political party and should be allotted the election symbol of that party.

Is Donald Trump surrogate Elon Musk's million-dollar US voter lottery legal?
Donald Trump surrogate Elon Musk's offer of a million dollars to one registered voter in a swing state every day until the US Election Day on November 5 has raised questions about the legality of such a move. While Democratic candidate Kamala Harris's campaign has not commented on the contest, Josh Shapiro, the Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania, said on NBC's Meet the Press: «I think it's something that law enforcement should take a look at.» Musk, the world's richest man, announced the contest Saturday in Pennsylvania, one of the seven "swing states" that will likely determine who will become the next US president — Harris, or Republican Trump.

India’s freebie paradox: Voters dislike it but want some things for free
Subscribe to enjoy similar stories. Most urban Indians look down upon electoral promises of free goods and services, or “freebies", but that does not stop them from wanting some amenities for free (health and education) or at subsidized rates (gas cylinders and electricity), especially among those higher up the income ladder. That’s a key finding from the latest round of the YouGov-Mint-CPR Millennial Survey, held in July against the backdrop of a trend of election campaigns focusing on the freebies culture in politics.

Dollar steady at August high on US rates view, election
Federal Reserve will take a measured approach to interest rate cuts, while a close battle in the upcoming U.S. election kept investors on edge. The dollar's strength, boosted by rising Treasury yields, kept the pressure on the yen, euro and sterling — a theme that has been building over the past few weeks as data showed the U.S. economy remained in a good place, resulting in traders scaling back their bets of large and rapid rate cuts from the Fed.

Harris, Trump pick up the pace two weeks to Election Day
Kamala Harris and her Republican rival, Donald Trump, delivered radically different messages on the U.S. campaign trail on Monday as they sought to win over undecided voters in the two weeks before Election Day. Vice President Harris, campaigning alongside former Republican lawmaker Liz Cheney in the three midwestern battleground states, argued that Trump, the former president, was a threat to democracy. As the election draws closer, Harris has been sharpening her attacks on Trump's fitness for office, often calling him «unstable» or «unhinged» and questioning his temperament.

Kamala Harris ahead of Trump in these three swing states as per this poll
Kamala Harris is looking like a good prospect in the upcoming us elections as her popularity ratings are going quite strong among American voters. However, reports suggest that she has begun conceding her lead to her Republican rival Donald Trump in some battleground states, which the Democrats need to immediately look into, with just a few days remaining for the US elections to start off. Meanwhile, a new poll has now claimed that Harris is regaining lost ground and is leading Donald Trump in three of the key swing states in the US, which is a major good news for the Democrats, amid all adversity.
