₹15,863 crores this month, is a significant current trend in the market. Despite their continued buying, DIIs are not as aggressive as they previously were because of some uncertainty over the election results. It's critical to recognise that, in addition to the high US bond yields there is now another driver driving FII selling.

Sensex fell 45.46 points, or 0.06%, to close at 73,466.39, while the Nifty 50 settled flat at 22,302.50. “Consistent selling by FIIs, a mixed set of Q4 results, and lower turnout in the election kept investors wary. Centre eyes dedicated R&D wing under semicon research centre
government is planning a dedicated research and development (R&D) wing under the proposed India Semiconductor Research Centre (ISRC) that will focus on semiconductor research which can «quickly go into industrial production», sources told ET. «There is a need for both the private and public sector, especially in the semiconductor space to have full-time R&D personnel. The idea is to create an intellectual property right (IPR) driven manufacturing ecosystem. We might look at creating a structure where some of the R&D can be co-funded or in PPP mode,» a senior government official said.

Rupee trade pacts priority, many in final stages: Amit Shah
Gandhinagar | New Delhi: India is in the «final stages» of negotiations with many countries to work out the modalities of settling trade in Indian rupees, Union home minister Amit Shah told ET in an exclusive interview, adding that this will be a major priority of the new government. «Matters have been put on hold due to elections but let me tell you we are in the final stages in our negotiations with many countries. This will be a priority for us in days to come,» he said in a detailed interview on board his flight back to Delhi from his constituency Gandhinagar, which went to the polls on Tuesday. On US President Joe Biden's remark that countries such as India, China, Russia and Japan were losing out on economic growth because of xenophobia, Shah said he had not seen Biden's comments in detail but pointed to India's growth trajectory over the past decade as evidence of its rising economic profile.

Dahod Lok Sabha constituency, officials said on Wednesday. The Congress has claimed that the man, Vijay Bhabhor, is the son of a local BJP leader and accused him of «insulting democracy» by going live on Instagram from the booth. The police in the state's Mahisagar district detained Bhabhor and another man after the opposition complained to the Election Commission with a copy of the video. Though Babhor deleted the video after it drew criticism, the clip had gone viral on social media by then. The incident of a man relaying a video live on Instagram after going to a poll booth to cast his vote is being probed, Dahod Returning Officer Nirgude Babanrao said.

PM Modi says Congress got election funds from Ambani and Adani
Modi caused a flutter on Wednesday when he alleged that Rahul Gandhi, who has consistently attacked the NDA government as being an Adani-Ambani dispensation and «suit-boot ki sarkar», has gone silent on the two business houses as he has received election funds from them. He also reacted to the controversial remarks made by Sam Pitroda and said that Congress was a racist party and these words were in poor taste. «You must have noticed that for the last five years, the Congress Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi) starts chanting the same thing from sunrise. Since his Rafale issue was grounded, he has started chanting a new slogan for the last five years — that there are five businessmen (who are the only ones gaining from Modi's rule). Then gradually, he moved to Ambani-Adani. But since the elections have been announced, he has stopped abusing Ambani-Adani,» Modi said at a BJP rally in Telangana. Gandhi has on several occasions alleged that Ambani and Adani groups have received undue favours from the Modi government while other business houses and the common people have suffered economically.

Poverty to be fully eradicated from India in next 10-15 years: Rajnath Singh
Rajnath Singh on Wednesday claimed that poverty would be completely eradicated from India in the next 10-15 years and this is 'Modi Ki guarantee'. Singh said this while addressing the BJP's 'Vijay Sankalp' rally here in the district headquarters town of Kalahandi. «Though Congress leaders beginning from Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru to Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh all have promised to end poverty, all of them have failed. However, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the process to end poverty,» he said. Noting that about 25 crore people have been lifted from below the poverty line during the nine years rule of Modi, the Defence minister said that this was not the claim made by the BJP, but the report of Niti Aayog. No previous government had ever done so as Modi did in the last nine years, he claimed.
