Bajaj Finance, India's largest non-bank consumer financier has unveiled a new business plan for the next five years which envisages integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across all its processes to improve customer engagement, grow revenue, enhance productivity, strengthen controls and reduce operating and credit costs. In chat with ET, managing director Rajeev Jain said the transition to an all-encompassing AI based system will improve customer conversion rates at a much lower cost while ensuring the loan growth remains at current rate or moves to a faster trajectory. “We have already deployed AI in some use cases this year and plan total adopting by December 2026. At the current run rate we are saving Rs 140 crore to Rs 150 crore per year compared to last year. But the possibilities are infinite in terms of significant improvement in conversion rates. Costs will also be lower with growth at a similar or faster rates,” Jain said.

Gold prices edged down on Thursday, but held near a five-week peak, as risk appetite increased ahead of a European Central Bank monetary policy decision and investors awaited U.S. PPI data for signals on the Federal Reserve's interest rate outlook, Reuters reported. Spot gold fell 0.3 per cent to $2,709.89 per ounce as of 1210 (GMT). US gold futures fell 0.5 per cent to $2,742.50. Earlier in the session, bullion hit its highest since November 6, supported by bets that the Fed will cut interest rates again next week after Wednesday's consumer prices data, as per a report on Reuters. The report showed a 0.3 per cent rise, the largest gain since April after advancing 0.2 per cent for four straight months.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will release a new module for issuance of new khatas to developers of apartments and commercial buildings projects in about a week's time for new properties which do not have BBMP Khatas. «Earlier, the builders/developers used to sell individual units, and the buyers would later apply for khatas. Now we will issue e-khatas for all units in one go to developers,» BBMP Special Commissioner (Revenue) Munish Moudgil told ET. The BBMP would issue as many e-khatas to the developer as he wants as per approved plan, who would in turn pass them on to individual buyers through a registered sale deed. This applies to all sorts of new property developments such as housing, commercial and mixed-use involving multiple units, the BBMP special commissioner said.

The index has retested the rounding bottom pattern breakout, which is around 24,540. Overall, Nifty witnessed a time-wise correction during the past few days. Once this timewise correction is over, the index is anticipated to resume its upward journey. On the downside, 100-Day Exponential Moving Average (100-DEMA) support is placed near 24,350. As long as the index sustains above it, traders are advised to adopt buy-on-dips strategy. On the upside, the index might test the levels of 24,800-25,000 in the short term, said Hrishikesh Yedve of Asit C. Mehta Investment Interrmediates.

Mobikwik Systems, which runs the digital payment application Mobikwik, saw its initial public offering being subscribed 17 times at the end of the second day, data from the BSE showed. Showing healthy demand from investors, the retail portion of the IPO was subscribed 58 times, while the non-institutional portion was booked 22 times. However, institutional buyers are yet to fully subscribe to the shares reserved for them. The IPO saw full subscription in the first few hours of its opening on Wednesday.

Gold prices climbed Rs 500 to Rs 80,900 per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday due to persistent buying by retailers and jewellers, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity finished at Rs 80,400 per 10 grams in the previous trading session. The yellow metal has jumped nearly Rs 2,000 in the past three sessions.
