Adani Enterprises shares rally up to 3.5%, Supreme Court finishes hearing on Hindenburg issue
Adani Enterprises rose 3.5% to Rs 2,250 in Friday's trade on NSE as the Supreme Court finished hearing on the Hindenburg issue and reserved its order. Other Adani stocks such as NDTV and Adani Power also rose 8.3% and 4.5%, respectively. Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Green Energy, Adani Ports and Adani Total Gas also rose over 1%. Market regulator SEBI on Friday informed the Supreme Court that it will not be seeking an extension to complete its probe in the Adani-Hindenburg matter. A Supreme Court-appointed expert committee had an interim report in May stating that it saw “no evident pattern of manipulation" in billionaire Gautam Adani's companies and there was no regulatory failure. It, however, cited several amendments the SEBI made between 2014 and 2019 that constrained the regulator's ability to investigate, and its probe into alleged violations of money flows from offshore entities has «drawn a blank». Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Friday asked the SEBI, represented by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta what it has been doing on investor value and if it is ensuring their protection. «There is extreme volatility in the stock market.

Sebi proposes flexibility in framework relating to 'trading plans' under insider rules
Capital markets regulator Sebi on Friday came out with a proposal to provide flexibility in adopting trading plans by persons, who are perpetually in possession of unpublished price sensitive information. Under the rule, 'Trading Plans' (TP) enable persons like senior management or Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), who are perpetually in possession of Unpublished Price Sensitive Information (UPSI), to trade in securities in a compliant manner. «Since the introduction of trading plans in 2015, data and market feedback suggest that the current regulatory requirements in respect of trading plans are onerous and consequently, trading plans are not very popular,» Sebi said in its consultation paper.

Senco Gold will close the year with around 12-12.5% stud ratio: CFO
Sanjay Banka, CFO, Senco Gold, says “the next two quarters will not be better than the first half. If we look at the past trends, the major sales happen up to Dhanteras. We have already seen around 26-27% year-on-year growth till today. The next quarters are likely to take the blended growth up to 25%. Secondly, as far as the growth across all the zones is concerned, we are very happy that we are growing across all the zones in India, particularly in the Eastern zone where the growth is around 22%.” Have you witnessed a strong festive demand? Also, what is the expectation for the upcoming wedding season? We are very much delighted with the festive demand. While the World Gold Council has said that around 9% growth has happened in the first nine months of the current calendar year, we have grown by almost 26% year-on-year versus last year. And we have seen a similar trend during the Dhanteras festival, a 25% increase. So we are very much delighted. It clearly shows the faith and trust of the consumers. We are looking for a similar trend for the rest of the year in the wedding season because in the wedding season, we are talking about around 30 lakh weddings and Rs 4.5 lakh crore expenditure, a major part of that is likely to come to the jewellery industry.

Govt needs to reduce import duties on inputs, capital goods to lessen need for export schemes: GTRI
Reducing import duties on inputs and capital goods could help the government cut down the need for many of the existing export schemes, think tank GTRI said on Friday. This would be an important step as India continues to face challenges in managing these incentives within the framework of international trade laws, it said. The Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) said that many countries, including major trade partners of India like the European Union (EU) and the US continue to declare Indian schemes as subsidies and “punish” exporters by charging countervailing duties. America and the EU account for over 20 per cent of the country’s total outbound shipments.
