BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on Saturday reacted to former JK CM Omar Abdullah's remarks on Afzal Guru and said that his statement reflects mindset of INDIA alliance which is about backing the terrorists. Bhandari further praised PM Modi and his policies for Jammu and Kashmir and said that PM Modi has always a vision of development. BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said, «Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for Jammu and Kashmir has been a vision of development. It has been a vision which has ensured that there is no terror or terror is uprooted from the valley. On the other hand, the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah, believe in giving soft support to terrorists. Omar Abdullah said that if it had been in his capacity, he would not have allowed Afzal Guru's hanging, a terrorist's hanging. This speaks volumes about the mindset of the INDI Alliance, which is about backing the terrorists. In the last 10 years, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed no stone pelting incident and the terror in the valley has gone down. We are extremely confident that that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will choose a BJP-led government in order to continue to be on the path of development.»

markets UPS Provident Extreme Sustainability wellness rights Varun Saboo on 4 themes that are offering opportunities to invest in
Varun Saboo, Head, Equities, Anand Rathi, says he is positive on OMCs. Crude prices are expected to slide further from here, which will help all the oil sensitives, so that was number one. Second, he believes one stock that is a theme in itself is PVR-Inox. That is one of the ideas that still leaves massive upsides from here. Multiplex is a big theme and PVR-Inox is a very high-conviction call. Third, cement is a big theme that Anand Rathi is positive about. Finally, Saboo talks about rate-sensitives as a theme. He is extremely positive about the NBFCs like Chola and Shriram Finance. Where do you stand when it comes to crude sensitives? We have seen quite a bit of a move in paints, some of the tyre names, and OMCs as well. It is not quite the same for ONGC or Oil India, but do you sense that this is a meaty move and could be sustained? Varun Saboo: When it comes to the crude sensitives, as a house we think that crude prices will soften further. So, be it the OMCs, paints, be it anything related to them will continue to rally. I am excited about the opportunity this is providing and I think everything is falling in place for India as a market. We are extremely dependent on crude as such. This helps us further on an overall basis also. This helps the overall market as well.

BLOCK Extreme wellness cover reports recommendations The Wayanad landslide holds lessons on the governance of fragile zones
The monsoon has predictably brought with it swollen rivers flooding the countryside and urban flooding on account of blocked stormwater drains. But the crushing landslides in Wayanad at the end of July were out of the ordinary. An extreme burst of rainfall attributable to globally-induced climate change was the cause, but the impact in terms of lives lost and villages erased was a result of weakening of the topography by predatory construction, mining and quarrying.

markets UPS Extreme economy Celebrity show classical Is the long-term bull market in PSU stocks over? Sandeep Tandon answers
«The whole idea is that if we do not repeat our mistake, that is the reason we build our system and process around that. So, learning from mistake is something very important and we have to keep on acknowledging it, that yes, as human beings we have made mistakes and we will make mistakes, so there is no point that the day you get that feeling you have arrived, the problem starts,» says Sandeep Tandon, Quant Mutual Fund. We are celebrating Teacher's Day with great learnings of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Warren Buffett. What has been your great learning from the masters of the world? And what would you like to share as a learning for our viewers today on Teacher's Day? Sandeep Tandon: If you sit down, whether you talk about Warren Buffett or talk of bhaiya or anybody who is very successful in the market, I think I have always seen the one aspect which is humility. And second thing they always accepted, even on the multiple public forum, the mistake which they did. And we believe that if you can highlight that, that you have learned from mistakes and I think that is the biggest learning, like even at Quant what we try to say that we as a human being will make new mistakes.

markets UPS Aviat Extreme Election wellness track Pankaj Pandey on why weakness in energy stocks may signal buying opportunities
«But structurally, some of these downstream and upstream companies are shifting their business model towards the renewable energy side and which is what makes them attractive. So, any kind of a weakness there should be used as an opportunity to look at some of these names,» says Pankaj Pandey, Head Research, ICICIdirect.com. Let us first talk about the oil sensitives because they are the one which sort of really held the market in place yesterday. I mean be it paint companies, OMCs, all of them a bunch. But do you think that this was just a knee-jerk reaction because crude has been seeing a steady decline for past three months now? Pankaj Pandey: On the crude oil front, volatility is going to be there because ahead of US elections, largely if you look at, both the candidates are at extreme positions in terms of the views. But Trump is pitching for nearly three million barrel kind of increase in the oil production. And coupled with the fact that the Chinese economy is not doing so well, which is the largest incremental buyer, I think crude is expected to remain soft. Now, while the marketing margins are expected to prop up given the softness what we have seen in crude, but the refining margins is something which needs to be watched for. But structurally, some of these downstream and upstream companies are shifting their business model towards the renewable energy side and which is what makes them attractive. So, any kind of a weakness there should be used as an opportunity to look at some of these names.

Ethereum Extreme BBC Death reports Podcasts diving Who wants to live forever?
cryptocurrency Ethereum's founder Vitalik Buterin, it's an intriguing idea. In the BBC Radio 4 podcast series Intrigue, the 10-part programme The Immortals holds us in rapt fascination. Technology reporter and psychologist Aleks Krotoski dives into the world of extreme longevity, where pioneers like Buterin are pushing the boundaries of what it means to age. Many Valleywalas like Jeff Bezos and Peter Thiel have reportedly invested in companies working on tackling ageing — and even death. In episode 7, Vitalik, the spotlight is on the Ether king. In 2022, Buterin floated a radical idea — a state with a constitution declaring that ageing is bad, life extension is good, and innovation in this field should face no barriers. This podcast becomes even more mind-blowing as it digs deeper, from the crypto founder who created a 'longevity city' in Montenegro because he believes we have a moral responsibility to stop ageing, to AI that is already being engineered to create a 'post-human being' merged with machines.
