Chemical fire in Atlanta BioLab update: Nearly 1 lakh people are affected by Chlorine gas
The Atlanta Fulton County Emergency Management Agency has started an investigation, and the agency is probing the numerous reports of haze and strong chemical odors across Fulton County. This condition may have a connection to the chemical fire that broke out at the BioLab facility, as reported in Fox News. The blaze has raised deep concern due to the potential release of hazardous substances into the atmosphere and harmed the quality of the air. As per the website, BioLab is a company that produces pool chemicals. Mayor Andre Dickens posted on X that they are aware of this stringent incident that took place in Conyers, Georgia. They are working hard to ensure safety across the Atlanta area. The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department and the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport are conducting air quality control checks.

US judge dismisses three counts in Trump election case in Georgia
Georgia judge on Thursday dismissed three of the counts in the indictment accusing former US president Donald Trump and co-defendants of conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the southern state. Two of the three charges thrown out by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee involved Trump, and he now faces a total of eight felony counts in Georgia. McAfee declined, however, to quash the entire indictment, which accuses the Republican presidential candidate and his allies of racketeering and other offenses.

Who’s Left Out of the Latest Student-Loan Plan? Parents
Millions of parents who took out student loans on behalf of their children were left out of the Biden administration’s new repayment plans. Parent Plus loans, which account for more than $111 billion in outstanding student debt, aren’t eligible for the lower monthly payments and shorter paths to forgiveness offered under the new Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) program announced in January. Neither were they part of the one-time adjustment in July to other income-driven repayment programs that awarded borrowers nearly $40 billion dollars in debt relief.
