Donald Trump faced a new round of legal charges as Georgia grand jury issued an indictment, alleging that he engaged in actions aimed at invalidating his defeat to Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 election. The allegations, presented by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, contribute to the array of legal challenges confronting Donald Trump, who is currently leading the pack in the competition for the Republican nomination in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Atlanta, Georgia. Trump and his supporters were charged with attempt to interfere with the state’s 2020 presidential election. Among those charged included former publicist from Chicago, Trevian Kutti.

Joe Biden in the White House, reported Reuters. In Georgia, after defendants are indicted by a grand jury, the indicted are arraigned, which is a formal reading of the charges in the court. Then defendants are also asked to enter a plea.

Donald Trump and 18 allies were indicted in Georgia on Monday, accused of scheming to illegally overturn his 2020 election loss in the state. The office referred to a "fictitious document that has been circulated online," although it did not specifically confirm whether it referred to the document containing criminal charges against Trump.

Bank stocks are under pressure early Tuesday after rating agency Moody's downgraded ten small regional banks and placed several larger banks on review for downgrades.

Georgia prosecutor is expected to seek a grand jury indictment in the coming weeks in her investigation into efforts by Donald Trump and his Republican allies to overturn the then-president's 2020 election loss. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis began investigating more than two years ago, shortly after a recording was released of a January 2021 phone call Trump made to Georgia's secretary of state. Willis has strongly hinted that any indictment would come between Monday and August 18.
