markets Digital Booking Strategy Experts audience gatherings A Festschrift for Delhi's prime chronicler
Narayani Gupta gathered where else but at the India International Centre for the release of a Festschrift on her. It is a measure of the calibre of the audience that most of them knew the meaning of that Germanic word so beloved of academics and applauded appreciatively as the book was unveiled. For the uninitiated, a Festschrift, literally 'celebration writing', is a collection of essays published in honour of a scholar and presented to them at a landmark event such as retirement or birthday. As the contributors are usually that scholar's peers and friends, such volumes are also called liber amicorum or 'book of friends'. It inevitably has a virtual avatar nowadays too called Webfestschrift, and if published after a scholar's death the compilation is called a Gedenkschrift. The Germanic overtone notwithstanding, Festschrifts are fairly commonplace in academic circles around the world, although initially there were more of these for luminaries in the field of sciences rather than humanities. Now such epistolary toasts are routinely brought out on poets and legal eagles (in India, Keki Daruwala and Nani Palkhivala come to mind), administrators and conservationists, economists and librarians, diplomats and theologians, even journalists.

markets UPS FIVE social gatherings Investigations Diddy in trouble again as lawsuits keep coming: Fresh suit filed by 3 men and 2 women accusing him of rape
Sean Diddy Combs, trouble is not looking to end as fresh cases are now being registered against him, where he has been accused of rape by 3 men and 2 women, giving an astonishing turn to his overall list of alleged crimes registered against him. Diddy Combs' series of lawsuits are now mounting to an exponential level and his getting out of prison easily is not looking like an optimistic deal at the moment. Diddy is facing multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault, abuse, and other misconduct. These allegations have come from various individuals, including his former partner. Diddy has meanwhile, pleaded not guilty to all criminal charges and denies all allegations of wrongdoing. However, the ongoing legal battles and public scrutiny have undoubtedly put him in a challenging situation. In a latest development, five alleged victims are claiming that the 55-year-old hip-hop mogul drugged and raped them, which is now adding up to the existing set of allegations pending against him. All the complainants are being represented by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who has said he intends to file lawsuits on behalf of 120 alleged victims, which simply sounds as much more trouble for Sean Diddy Combs.
