Yogi Adityanath said the decreasing population in the hill parts is quite worrying. He underlined the need for giving proper attention to the problem of migration in Uttarakhand and steps must be taken to stop it. He further added that there are many possibilities in Uttarakhand to stop the migration.
He was speaking at a function, called Raibar-6, organized at Ambedkar Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.
CM Yogi said there is a vast scope for spiritual and adventure tourism in Uttarakhand. Reminding the gathering about the existing religious places like Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, CM Yogi said everyone, who is a Sanatani, wants to offer his or her prayer at all such places in the hill state. He emphasized that tourism should be promoted in the hills in view of the presence of religious places. Besides, there is a need to promote adventure tourism in this state as the beautiful mountains exist everywhere. The people of the plain areas may be attracted toward this.
Cm Yogi also highlighted the little employment opportunities for locals in Uttarakhand. He said it has become a big issue in the state. Under compulsion, they migrate from the hills in search of jobs and other facilities, CM Yogi mentioned in his speech. He further added that solar energy can be promoted in the state. His plea was that the hills, located in the south of Uttarakhand, can be made a medium for solar energy.
