Since her divorce in 2019, she has channelled these funds into more than 2,000 organisations, supporting causes such as education, healthcare, affordable housing and diversity.
Her donations aim to provide support where it is most needed, with emphasis on underrepresented groups, helping to drive meaningful change in communities worldwide.
Scott and Bezos met in 1992 while working at D.E. Shaw, a New York hedge fund. They married shortly after and co-founded Amazon in 1994, transforming a small online bookseller into a global technology giant.
After 25 years of marriage, the couple announced their divorce in 2019. As part of the settlement, Bezos transferred 4% of Amazon’s shares — worth around $38 billion — to Scott.
