The application window shall remain open from July 15 to October 12. No application shall be accepted after the closure of the application window. In order to avoid any discrimination, both new applicants as well as existing beneficiaries of the scheme who propose to invest more by way of switching over to higher target segment, would be eligible to apply.

criminal laws, Home ministry officials said that MHA has incorporated 72% of 111 suggestions made by the Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) which examined the draft laws in August 2023. «The PSC forwarded its recommendations to the MHA on November 10, 2023. MHA has incorporated most of the suggestions given by PSC and out of 111 observations, MHA has incorporated around 72% of them,» the officials said. The remaining suggestions were either in terms of observations of the Committee or the existing provisions in the Bills were already meeting the suggestions of PSC. The old set of Bills were subsequently recalled and, after incorporating suggestions and feedback, the current three Bills were tabled, they added. MHA has initiated steps towards preparing the existing organs of the Criminal Justice System to successfully adapt themselves to these new laws. As per officials, «these measures would require training at all levels in the police, vast improvement of forensic capabilities at all levels, evolving best practices for adopting technological solutions at police station and court levels, preparing various guidelines on initiatives like Witness Protection Scheme, etc. Further, commensurate capacity building steps have to be undertaken by all states and UTs».

It has also advised various ministries and departments to form a high level committee consisting of a retired judge, a retired high ranking officer and a technical expert for mediation in case of ongoing contract dispute and settle the matter amicably. The move is another attempt by the government to reduce insignificant litigation and to de-clog the Judiciary. “Government departments/ entities/ agencies should avoid and/ or amicably settle as many disputes as possible using mechanisms available in the contract,” said a recently released guidelines issued by the department of expenditure regarding arbitration and mediation in contracts of domestic public procurement.

It is likely to sell its vehicles in the ?25-30 lakh range, placing them in the premium affordable segment of India's burgeoning market for EVs. The models are likely to have a range of 300-500 kilometres. VinFast's move to enter the Indian market through the completely knocked down (CKD) route will help the maker of VFe-34, VF6, VF7 car models save on high import duties and offer its products at competitive prices. India levies an import duty of 100% on imported car models having a CIF (cost, insurance, freight) value of more than $40,000 and 70% on imported models with a CIF value of less than $40,000. CKD kits attract 15% duty.

PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), a unit of the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), had developed comprehensive guidelines for implementing bagless days and make learning in schools more joyful, experiential and stress-free for students. «Various suggestions were discussed during the meeting, including sensitising students about the local ecology, teaching them to test water purity, recognising local flora and fauna, and visiting local monuments. Based on this review, PSSCIVE will further fine-tune and finalise its guidelines,» a senior MoE official said. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 had recommended that all students in grades 6-8 participate in a 10-day bagless period.
