F&O ban list: A total of five stocks have been put under the ban for trade on Thursday, December 7, 2023 under the futures and options (F&O) segment by the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The securities have been put on ban under the F&O segment as it crossed 95 per cent of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), according to the NSE. However, the stocks will be available for trading in the cash market.

Another facet of this scam involves deceptive calls alleging to be from reputable institutions like Visa or Chase Bank, specifically addressing purported suspicious charges on your credit cards. These calls are particularly convincing as they leverage well-known brand names to entice individuals into falling for their schemes. Staying cautious and recognizing these tactics is crucial to avoid falling victim to such scams.

FPI assets stood at $686.95 billion in the fortnight ended 15 January, 2022.

Religare Enterprises (REL) contends that the Burman family did not designate any representative to the board following criticism from the Burman family, a major stakeholder, about governance problems after the REL board's reluctance in incorporating shareholder members. «The Burman family has not put forth any nomination for the board of REL,» said an REL spokesperson. However, a Burman family spokesperson told ET that REL had assured shareholders seats on the board, but as of now, no appointments have been made. «We understand that apart from us, other large shareholders were also promised seats on the REL board, but no one has been put on the board to date despite raising this matter several times earlier,» he said. «The fact is that there is no shareholders' representation on the board even though REL is a 100% public shareholder-led company.» REL's current board comprises six members, including chairperson Rashmi Saluja, who has an executive role, and five independent directors. Burman's family had, through various entities, accumulated a 21.5% stake in REL by August.

Supreme Court on Wednesday disapproved of the delay caused by the Central government in framing guidelines for the search and seizure of digital devices by law enforcement agencies. A division bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul questioned the counsel for the Centre over the two-year delay. Speaking for the Bench, Justice Kaul verbally remarked that it has been two years since notice was issued on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking the said guidelines.

MUMBAI : Online fantasy sports company Dream11 on Wednesday withdrew from the Bombay High Court its petition challenging notices related to alleged tax evasion amounting to Rs1,200 crore. Appearing on behalf of the Maharashtra government, advocate Jyoti Chavan informed a bench led by Justices GS Kulkarni and Jitendra Jain that the state goods and services tax (GST) authority had withdrawn its show cause notice on Dream11 since Central GST authorities were pursuing the matter before the Supreme Court. Chavan added that the Directorate General of GST (DGGST) would send a fresh show cause notice, which led to Dream11 withdrawing its petition.

Bengaluru Police have registered an FIR after obscene images interrupted the live streaming of the Karnataka High Court proceedings at a court hall on Monday. The CEN Police (cyber, economic & narcotic offences) registered the FIR under sections 67 & 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 on a complaint from the High Court administration. While Section 67 deals with punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form, Section 67A prescribes punishment for publishing or transmitting material containing sexually explicit acts, etc.
