The Witcher: Will Netflix series end after season 5?
The Witcher" series is heading towards its conclusion after season five, with Henry Cavill's departure from the Netflix show. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the development. Last October, it was announced that Cavill had left the fantasy series, and Liam Hemsworth had been cast to take on the role of Geralt of Rivia starting from season four. While there has been no official information regarding the premiere date for the fifth season, there are reports indicating that season five might serve as the series finale. Following the recent resolution of the strike between WGA and the studios, work on «The Witcher» Season 4 is set to resume shortly, with a focus on finalizing and refining the scripts. Once that phase is complete, preparations for Season 5's writing will commence. Originally, the plan was to film Season 4 and Season 5 consecutively, and this plan remains unchanged despite the strikes. However, the strike has caused a shift in the schedule. Prior to the strike, filming for Season 4 was scheduled to begin in September 2023, but now the production is aiming to start rolling cameras in the first half of 2024. The intention remains to film Season 4, take a brief hiatus, and then proceed with Season 5, as per reports. «The Witcher» is expected to draw inspiration for its final two seasons from three of Andrzej Sapkowski's books: «Baptism of Fire», «Tower of the Swallow», and «Lady of the Lake», with the incorporation of some original material.

CEA issues guidelines for hydro projects after disaster in Sikkim
NEW DELHI : India’s apex power planning body, the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), has come up with guidelines for slope stability—inclines that can withstand movement—in hydropower projects after heavy rains and glacial lake floods damaged a dam in Sikkim. The guidelines said that in the case of projects that are “vulnerable", the project authority or developer would be responsible for examining the upper reaches, including the reservoir, identify fault sites and take remedial measures for stabilization.
