Provident Align Discover Deloitte reports Relationships International Inspection reveals shortcomings of auditor affiliates
SRBC (SR Batliboi), Walker Chandiok (WCCL) and Deloitte Haskins & Sells (Deloitte) have once again brought to light critical issues such as auditor independence, the provision of non-audit services to audit clients, deficiencies in quality control frameworks, and conflicts of interest, raising concerns about whether top audit firms are responding quickly enough to meet regulatory requirements. A key concern for the regulator, the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), has been that despite affiliations with global networks, each firm operating locally has not aligned its internal audit policies and procedures with Indian regulatory norms, particularly Sections 141 and 144 of the Companies Act and the ICAI Code of Ethics. Section 141 addresses the eligibility, qualifications, and disqualifications of auditors, whereas Section 144 prohibits auditors from providing certain services to the company or its subsidiaries. They reviewed SRBC in 2024 for compliance with previous findings and evaluated three FY23 audits, focusing on revenue-related internal controls, related-party transactions, and non-financial asset impairment. The regulator found that despite being a member of Ernst & Young Global since 2013, SRBC's policies fail to consider their relationships with network firms.

COST Airlines economy Parke travelers Department International Relief for domestic flyers as regulator rejects Delhi Airport’s proposal for hike in charges for domestic flyers
Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) hasn’t allowed Delhi Airport to increase charges on domestic departing passengers from Rs 129 for the period of 2024-2029. The GMR group-owned airport had sought higher User Development Fee (UDF) ranging from from Rs405 to Rs 610 depending on peak hours and non-peak hours. UDF is a fee levied by operators to recover the expense they have incurred upgrading infrastructure at airports. A Parliamentary Affairs Committee had earlier expressed their dissatisfaction over “arbitrary” rise in user development fees (UDF) and ticket prices, arguing that the existing framework lacks mechanisms to hold private operators accountable.

Rayudu said the fans' support is first for Dhoni and then for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and probably in future it may hurt the team's branding which has always revolved around one man. «It is quite daunting if you're a newcomer. It's quite loud. The support is phenomenal. But, as you go on and play, then you realise they are MS Dhoni fans before they are CSK fans,» Rayudu told ESPNcricinfo. «It is quite evident, and rightly so, because that's the way the team has been set up and built over the years. He's rightly named Thala (leader) and he has been calling the shots in CSK, and it's come to a stage where people are madly in awe and in love of what he's done for CSK.» The 43-year-old Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, began batting lower down the order in the IPL and also quit captaincy last year to facilitate a smooth transition.
